What Tazman showed was just an example, the folder itself will vary depending on where your game is installed. Go to its main folder, and right click on the address bar you see at the top of the explorer window, then hit "Copy address as text". Then paste that string of text into Alchemy.djellis wrote:put in what you said a window comes up saying is not a valid folder.

Thanks manuel you just made me aware of ANOTHER Win 7 feature... they do keep them a bit hidden sometimes. Useful tip there thanks.

Indeed. Just wish RSC would issue a patch for the xonar.PaulH2 wrote:I'd rather they just got TS2012 working with OpenAL once and for all so we don't need Alchemy at all...smarty2 wrote:Perhaps RSC should update this then? http://www.railsimdownloads.com/wiki/ti ... us+Updates

Just a quick update to say I launched the latest Alchemy (beta) and pointed it in the right direction of TS2012
Everything is back to its beautiful best from what I can tell
Frame rates havent been affected although there can sometimes be a little stutter when some new scenary or noises are coming.
Very happy for now. Thanks for the help everyone.

Your welcome. Glad you got it sorted out.
It would be nice if one of the mods could tidy up these posts and pin it to the top. Alot of people have had this issue. It seems it can be solved quite easily.

Re: Soundblaster X-fi and windows 7
I have the same problems as the initial guy on this thread (Windows 7 64bit X-FI Titanium card). I have gone through all the steps as mentioned and still dont have any tunnel sounds although do get a "wooshing" noise as I go over bridges sometimes! I initially had a xonar card but had the same problems! I have cleared any trace of that from my system and have installed the latest creative drivesr and the latest alchemy with the pointer to rw3(I moved RW3 from the left hand panel to alchemy enabled side) In game I have eax radio button enabled. In creative control panel I am running in Game mode with EAX enabled with 12db maxixmum set. Incidentally I run windows with UAC disabled as standard. Having never heard the EAX sounds am I right in guessing that they are applied to the object (bridge etc) and not to the train itself and they are on with all routes or just default ones? Any help much appreciated. Cheers Mark

Re: Soundblaster X-fi and windows 7
I noticed this also, some tunnels will activate EAX and some wont ,
Bath to Templecoombe is a good testing ground for tunnels, all seem to work,
Some work on the WCML, Portsmouth Direct, Ox Padd,
However the EAX effects on the WCML stop working for a short intervals, and then comes back again, its weird, but im quite chuffed (pun), with the effects im getting everywhere else
Cheers

Re: Soundblaster X-fi and windows 7
I have managed to coax EAX into life on some of the tunnels/bridges on some of the routes now. Its been tough going but managed by turning EAX on/off and by altering some of the values in the in the creative EAX settings portion. mark
