Search for the card you're interested in, and you can immediately check whether it will be faster than your existing one - or which of the options you're considering scores highest.
I also had the Dell PSU limitation, so I ended up putting a 7600GS into my 3 GHz P3 which so far has done the job acceptably, considering the cost and the rest of my system.
Those results are just a bit wrong.. My 6990 is just barely beat by the 580.. Which yes, shouldn't be but their graph is still severely skewed. I could flip my dual bios switch and kill the 580 in their graph but no need really.
I did see this site prior to purchasing my new card. The GF405 installed in my pc rated at around 234, or something close to this and the GF GTX 560 score two thousand and something, so, I was sure I was getting something far superior. Thankfully, it was not a stoutly HP rep who was doing the comparison or I may have been talked into a re-modeled, refurbished PCI card!!!. Do I sound bitter?!!.
I did checkout all the reviews on the GTX560 before I decided to purchase and with advise from some of my fellow forum members, who I wish to thank for their time and good sound advise, I did not make another error of purchase.
I guess the best advise for all is check before you buy.
