Blue Peter?
Hi all,
Just a thought, is there a possibility that the RSC Tornado MAY, be able to be res-kined to look like A2 60532 Blue Peter as , apart from the wheel sizes they were quite similar, although i know a few difficulties could get in the way of this. Cheers,
Henry

I hope I'm wrong, but I think nobodies allowed to re-skin the Tornado. I don't own the model so I can't check the manual.

I've heard that to, which is a shame if its true. It would be nice though to have a Blue Peter for railworks.

You are allowed to reskin Tornado, but you are not allowed to make any modifications to the model itself, like changing the nameplate.

You only allowd to do for PERSONAL USE not release it. i believe you can change the nameplate and numbers but i'm not too sure posting on picture/xguerra wrote:You are allowed to reskin Tornado, but you are not allowed to make any modifications to the model itself, like changing the nameplate.

Re: Blue Peter?
It seems a waste for the model not to be used / released as the rest of her original Peppercorn classmates. I'd expect some form of exclusivity arrangement is behind it, but it seems slightly ironic to me given the drive to build the actual loco was that none of the originals were saved. Maybe something will happen in the future.
But thems the rules, no real reskinning. A shame as the idea of an A2 reskin is a good one.

Re: Blue Peter?
There is nothing in the Tornado manual to suggest that any different reskinning rules apply to that than to any other DLC. I'd suggest dropping RS.com an email if you want an "official" answer

Re: Blue Peter?
The main problem is that the nameplate and badge on the smoke deflectors as well as those horrible lamps are part of the model and can't be removed, and Tornado is not a 'real' A1 in any case. We really could do with a decent looking set of A1/A2s though...

Re: Blue Peter?
Make your own model: a washing up bottle, cotton reels, some sticky-backed plastic and felt tip pens - your own "Blue Peter" all ready to be shoved into the CD drive of your computer.

Re: Blue Peter?
Thanks for the replies guys, i will contact rs.com and see and may have a go myself, however i don't have any experience at all of re-skinning. If i did i wouldn't ask, maybe RS may do an A2 pack one day?
