I have to say though, I think its a shame RSC couldn't have included default route station lighting in the TS2012 update, although that probably wouldn't have helped sales of Horseshoe Curve... Anyway, here's hoping the DLC routes are updated soon.
I'm with you 100% on this one, Paul. I was very surprised that the default routes hadn't been given a makeover as Richard has done here.

I can foresee a purchase in the near future as the screenshots look *amazing* 8)

Rik.

Re-downloaded & installed it, cleared the blueprint cache, fired up a night scenario: thank you Richard for another great creation! Now, we need only a station noise and announcement pack to complete the immersion.

Looks like another excellent add-on pack Richard, if I can get RW3 to run nice and smoothly micro stutter free then I will purchase it.

I agree about a station sound pack, the big stations need more noise and it would be nice to see staff on the platforms.

Another great pack from Armstrong Powerhouse. Adds another touch of realism to an ever improving Rail Sim.

Does the pack introduce new lighting assets or does it use the default ones included with the update?

Also just to add to the above question.Would still be able to use this pack if i have created a route using one of the effected route templates?

I believe it is scenery assets that have been changed, rather than the routes themselves, so there should be few if any side-effects.
The key to knowledge is not to rely on others to teach you it.

Did someone try the scenario that came with it? I tried 4 times and always have an AI collision at 20:44 between the trains 1N06 and 1E21 while waiting at Darlington station.

Nice enhancment - thank you!

One question - is it possible to incorporate these lighting effects in a newly created route or to a previosuly made 3rd party route?

MTIA,
Lights are now included in the route editor which you can place in any route. They are listed in the misc section as "Light Diffuse 100m" and "Point Light". The latter does cast shadows as default, which will give a performance hit but you can simply double click your first one and untick the box in the right hand flyout. Then just copy and paste that light which will mean the copied ones are automatically unticked. This would be the most effective solution for anyone not familar with or not wanting to modify any files, you can then just place the lights in your desired location in the editor.

Alternatively you can clone the light and modify the .bin file to have it automatically cast no shadows. Or even more alternatively you can create a simple object in a 3d program and have your own point light blueprint.
