A thin film of oil would tend to repel the water, so it could be a win.

RS.com will be putting out a fix for the broken cabs within a few days.

Have RS.com put out a "Fix" for this problem yet, have I missed it or is the RS.com "a few days" longer than everyone elses?

I'm really 'lost' not being able to drive these Loco's (8F's, Halls and Jubilee's, which all suffer this problem) from inside the Cab.

I tried the Jubilee a couple of days ago and it was still there then. I don't think this has been fixed yet, but since RSC are aware of it I would expect a fix reasonably soon.

The official word is that the patch a day or two ago is definitely not everything they have been working on, just the stuff they got finished first.

Hiya,

One thing we have been waiting on is the ability to beta test (through steam and not RWPs) DLC that is already live.

That process is now in place, and we are looking into using it going forward. To date it has always been rather stressful pushing out updates/fixes to dlc without them running through beta testing.

Cab fixes as I understand were done this week, we took some time in understand why it happened in the first place and why to some stock and not others. With the camera in physics now the position of the camera is calculated slightly different, it is now calculated from the centre of the phsyics and not it's position in world space. Broken cameras are in locos which are not centred at 0/0/0. Steam locos are often centred around the middle driving wheel which is often offset, some more than others, which is why they are the most effected.

The good news is we understand why it happend and the fixes have been made to the steam locos, I expect them to be rolled out next week.
Sorry for any delay but we did need to understand first so we can pass on the information.

regards

Derek

Hi Derek,

Thanks for the detailed explanation to how the problem was solved, glad to hear that a solution has been found by the Team and I look forward to the update release.

(Now I know that a few days means 9 days exactly. LOL.  )
