IOW Network Screenies

Post by 0931330 »

Hi All
Here are some sceenshots, Marks taken of the up-grade of the Freshwater Newport Line.
We feel it will be another couple months before V6 will be ready for release,
Justin is going through the scenarios, to make shure they are ok with the new RW3 system.

I click on the link - I'm asked to sign in to Windows Live: do that and then all I get is a blank page with no nice piccies.
I tried on both Firefox7 and IE9.

Best to try some other way of showing pictures I think. I got the following message:

May I suggest photobucket, it is free and works reasonably well.

You can also attach screenshots to posts directly on this forum, no need to use external hosting if it's just to put it here.

PM to Ian!
What a great sight to see - The Freshwater line is coming alive. Hopefully you will all be able to see them soon.

I thought Ian was going to edit his original post with this new link - but to save you waiting, here it is:

Please note that these shots were made by the IOW Network team - I am just hosting them.

Colin,

Thank you for assisting Ian with the screen shots, these are mostly of work in progress.

Below are a couple of new shots of Freshwater at night. These were done this morning during some testing.

You will notice that I have had to take "liberties" with history as the line closed before the Class 101 DMUs were built. Also Class 101 DMUs have not made it to the Island yet! The main reason for using the "wrong" stock is that there is currently very little "right" stock available. The IOW Network Team is in desperate need of a rollingstock modeller (or two) to join us, so come on! If you are interested in building an "O2" or some LBSCR or SECR bogie carriages PM either myself or Ian (0931330).

Would the Maunsell coaches recently released by DT ever have been used on the IoW?

The lighting looks great - but smelly, noisy DMUs polluting the Island - Oh dear.
Mind you, I would accept them in real life if they rebuilt all the lines.

Colin

@Mark: I have sent you a PM about a temporary help with the stock situation.

The sort answer is no. On the Island we went from pre-grouping (LBSCR and SECR) compartment coaches to underground electric stock (1966-7). However they would not look 100 miles out of place on the route as the Maunsell coaches were used on some mainland branch lines in their latter days.
