Annoying DOG [RESOLVED]

Post by firstoak »

Despite being a member of UKTS for the last 3 years, this is my first post - on any forum anywhere :-? - so please point me towards another topic if it's been answered already.

Since the TS2012 on Sept. 29th, I've had an annoying DOG (Digital Onscreen Graphic) 'PHYSX + CPU' which appears in the top left of all screens. This could be something to do with the FXAA software that I also loaded around the same time using the link provided by Matt in UKTS News (http://www.assembla.com/spaces/fxaa-pp-inject/documents#). I've since deleted the FXAA files as with them installed TS2012 never got above 15fps. However the DOG remains. Has anyone else had a problem with this?

Thanks

No idea here, I had never heard of this Assembla project until you linked it. It sounds like maybe it has not been properly removed, so maybe you should be asking a question to those involved with Assembla or considering making a Malware report to your security provider if software elements it installs cannot be removed.

You haven't said what graphics card you used, but its actuall physx x monitor which was mentioned in some pages in the big TS2012 thread, I believe in the nvidia control this is under the tab at the top, 3D settings -> Show Physx visual indicator, if its ticked try unticking, I don't know for ATI cards unfortunately. It doesn't really have anything to do with the FXAA injectors though.

You can turn this option off in the Nvidia control panel.

Choose 'set PhysX configuration', then choose '3D Settings' from the drop down menu at the top and uncheck the 'show PhysX...' option.

The graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT and unticking the box in the Control Panel's 3D settings did the trick.

Thanks for your help with this.
