TS2012 > More Cab Sway-Hey-Hey-Hey???

Post by TheTazman »

I have been having a good old go with TS2012 now and the cab sway greatly improves the driving expereince.

I do notice however that on particulary long straight pieces of track that the sway almost stops. I wondered if anyone would agree it could move a little more at higher speeds?

I like the new cab sway, but could do with a bit more on long straight section at high speeds, but could do with a bit less on bends the lurch to the side is a bit execssive, also could do with some cab sway when going over points. But is a very goon feature though

I do find that particularly with superelevation, even with realistic transfers between curves there can be a noticeable extra cab sway effect, making it even more noticeable that there is no cab sway on straight sections of track.

Hi Simon,

The cab sway is a great addition and a step in the right direction but....it really needs dampening down, the transitions are far to violent,if the animation could be slowed down a little
it would look and feel more realistic. As for the straight sections, yeah every now and then a little variation,i'm sure this could be incorporated,it shouldn't be that hard and it's only 1 week
since this option has been available.

OpenBVE has some of the most realistic cab sway and inertia iv'e experienced in any simulation, what we have at the minute with RW3.....it's a start and can be improved upon.

Hi daz

Yes its certainly alot better now. I guess it depends alot on the type of engine your driving at the time. I was driving the deltic on the long section outside of york and was up to about 90mph when i noticed it was not moving very much.

The 156 pretty good also. I forgot to have a go of it and used one of the night scenarios. driving at night is much improved too. Only thing is its sunny here this morning. So you loose the effect a bit. When it gets dark later on i will have another go.
