I did delete the Client 4 and the 4 Extended.
Steam installed .net again.
I started te pc a few times > problem was gone.
Worked for me.

Sorted! Not sure why but RW3 (2012) now starts as it should, no NET4. As a matter of fact I did run acouple of utilities to clean up my registry and also defragged my hard drive. Don't think either of these had any effect tho'

BTW my desktop shortcut points to a web url not an .exe, namely "steam//rungameid/nnnnn" Is yours the same ?

Hi,

Any emails that come into support we are looking into. If this is happening we want to know about it.

I start via Steam.

I note that Steam tries to install Adobe Flash v10.3 r183.10 every time although I am actually running v11.0.1.129 RC1

Also had the same problem this morning. Ran a validation, Steam told me I was missing 84 files which will be re-aquired. It then worked after.

Plenty of threads available with your problem which isn't related to this thread.

Here is one, might have a fix in it as well. :D

I have had this twice when going to start Train Simulator 2012 in the morning, both times got 'The game is not currently available try later' and/or RailWorks.exe is missing

This appears to happen when Steam is updating TS 2012, it first deletes the files it is going to replace, then replaces them. If the connection is slow and you try to start TS 2012 in the middle of the process then you get the above messages and find that you are missing files.

I did find that running the Validate Cache option tended to speed up the process somewhat.

This happened to me this evening. I purchased the Horseshoe Curve route and after the addon had downloaded, I found that railworks.exe and a lot of other files had been deleted. I am now in the process of validating cached and hope that it re-appears. Very odd.

P.S. (30 minutes later): 6 files were missing and have now been restored. I presume that this was a Steam rather than a RailWorks problem.
