It's very clear that AI behaviour is different depending on whether you launch the scenario straight from the editor, or go back to the main menu first. That's what is revealed by the scenario I sent up - it works fine if launched from the menu, but I get two trains waiting side by side at a signal gantry if I launch it from the editor. This is of course all the more unforgivable since it is actually impossible to go to the main menu straight from the editor - you have to launch the scenario and then exit it first!

Still, I am reliably informed that there is at least one coder actively looking at this problem, and "Evening Express" seems to be a very good demonstration of it since it is a default scenario, on a default route, using default assets, and - crucially - the problem remains after trivially editing and saving in RW3, during which the editor gave no warnings or errors. It does contain a relatively large number of active trains, but I think it should be possible to narrow down or even find the problem using it.
The key to knowledge is not to rely on others to teach you it.

I am getting crawling Ai from the menu, strange thing is the service I set up started (a 455) from Haslemere ok whilst my train 421 was waiting for its departure time on platform 2, time went... no change to signal state checked the map and sure enough the 455 was creeping along, so jumped out of my train and zoomed down the track and clicked on the 455 powered it up and accelerated, whipped back to my train and clicked on it and the 455 zoomed off, didn't do it again, noticed another service class 33 with a rake of mk2's which had passed me on the way up to Haslemere was creeping just outside of Woking? So for me it is happening in normal use.

I've not been able to replicate it in a default route yet, but I've noticed that when it happens on my route, the brake sounds actually come on as the loco grinds to a crawl. I wonder if that matters, or is just a coincidence

It seems I'm having trouble explaining what my problem is, and my apologies if I didn't get it right what I have posted earlier.
What you have mentioned about two trains waiting side by side at a signal gantry is exactly what happened to me in the US route : Barstow - San Bernardino. (with the standard assets/rolling stock, etcetera).
I know for a fact and am most certain about it, that it didn't happen in RW2. but that seems to be stating the obvious, if I read many other posts by different people.

Many if not all people in this forum are very active and would like to thank everybody for posting anything out of the ordinary, it is very insightful to me and clarifies my own problems as well.
Thanks Kromaatikse for being so active and responsive to anyone and also for the new threads you've made for the graphics/faq and other aspects of TS2012.

I got an idea but I'm sure other people might thought of this far earlier of this.
But there is a 'VIDEO' section in this forum where you can post fantastic video's.
Could such section also be made for purely errors ? I mean where video's can be linked only with errors occuring during a scenario or free roams ?
If this is not easy to accomplish or simply not wanted or possible then I understand of course, but would make some problems very visible and even more understandable.

Has anyone heard anything back from Rs.com about the AI crawling? The worse place I find for AI crawling is Oxford. I tried to create a scenario where the player train would wait at a red signal outside Oxford with a 47 in front picking up passengers, the 47 would then get on its way towards Didcot with me following behind, the 47 just moves along at 0.1 mph, I have even tried jumping in to the 47 to get it to move but it ends up derailing. I have also had AI crawling with another scenario in the same place aswell (Don't think I'm allowed to name that scenario)

@Tofwings / Brian

Sorry but I've had to remove your post as it contravenes Matt's explicit instructions on mentioning IHH products.

Here is the reply i got this Morning
Hi

Thanks for letting us know about the problems with DLC. We’re really sorry that the Train Simulator 2012 update appears to have introduced this problem, but we’re now working through all of the DLC to get things fixed.

Keep an eye on http://www.railsimulator.com and http://www.facebook.com/railsimulator for news on DLC as we correct it.

We appreciate your help
The RailWorks Team

Here is the edited content of a thread i started, which has , as of yet received no replies
Hello all

I have a slight problem that im hoping someone can shed some light on .

I created a scenario in RW3 for the PDL 1 x 421 cig heading for woking,( player ) and 1 other heading for the Portal (Ai )...However, the Ai train just Crawls, (the dispatcher shows a time of about 6 hours to do half a mile )

So i decided to make the exact same scenario in RW2 using same locos, same positions same headings everything the same, ...The Scenario works as it should in RW2...

So i then copied the scenario from RW2 into RW3 and it works as it should ( no crawling Ai )

But if i open the Scenario i created in RW3 ,(which is exactly the same as the RW2 one ) its a no go for the Ai, ..........

So is this a RW3 problem ? or a Loco Problem , ?...........or am i missing something

Seems Odd that a scenario created in RW2 will work in RW3, But the exact same Scenario Created in RW3 will not function as it should.
Lets hope they fix it soon,...............May i point out that its only certain locos that have this effect

ps...I hope thats OK Mods, I don't fancy typing this again...lol

To ASHGRAY

Thanks for letting me know i was in the wrong, i appreciate that,

But please, do not send me private messages scolding me on the use of the word Gordon Bennett,
That phrase was used tongue in cheek, and should have been read as such,
I understand that you guys have a hard job to do, but i think you're going a tad overboard on some issues relating to speech, ( as in freedom of )...expression and all that

We are living in Britain , Right ,........... Not Orwells 1984 .........

Please feel free to comment in the OPEN Forum

Hi Brian

Since you've responded to my PM publicly, you won't mind me replying in similar fashion.

I certainly wasn't "scolding" you for use of the term "Gordon Bennett" - had I have been, any criticism would be justified.

The purpose of my PM was to reinforce the instruction given by Matt that no mention of that site, its owner or its products is allowed - the fact that you chose to respond by saying "Gordon Bennett" indicated a degree of frustration or annoyance on your part which I felt needed a reminder of why this instruction is in place.

Now, back on topic please folks.
