I would think it can't be redistributed without permission from Oovee. Have you tried contacting them?

He can't, as it's contrary to copyright law and the forum rules, and you should not ask.Bassno9 wrote:<SNIP> Email it to me?

It doesn't matter whether it is freeware or payware. It is still covered by copyright and if it is no longer on the author's / publishers site then it should not be redistributed without their permission.Bassno9 wrote:Ok, freeware being the operative word

It seems like some involved in the world of making digital trains appear on a monitor take their craft overly seriously. "Here's a free thing that I created for you to enjoy, it makes a train in Railworks look a bit different! But you can't give it to other people unless I say so". What a strange world we live in.

Strange indeed, when people cant respect the wishes of the creator of something------
just because something is free doesn't mean anybody can distribute it, something being only available from the official channel means that any problems with it can be quickly resolved, who's to say that the copy hosted by 'Joe Bloggs' doesn't contain an extra (erroneous) edit?
Has anyone looking for this particular item bothered to drop Oovee a mail asking about it?--remember the site is undergoing a big facelift so everything that was there previously may not have been ported over yet.

Re: Weathered class 37 reskin by Oovee
a thread like this touches a fine line between
Freeware - Not for Distribution without Authors permission
Freeware - Distribute but dont alter the files.
These are Copyright laws and can be, if abused, subject to formal Prosecution in the small courts if ever there was a case.
if you think the Above is strange, pop over to the States and see their reskinning policies.

If nothing else, it's simple (maybe old fashioned) good manners to ask the creator of a particular item before distributing it anywhere and everywhere

Yeah, but where's the fun in that?.... nothing like a good old rant about how unfair things are to raise the spiritsFoggyMorning wrote:If nothing else, it's simple (maybe old fashioned) good manners to ask the creator of a particular item before distributing it anywhere and everywhere
