Yeah, the only thing we are really missing now is a decent Standard 4MT and 5MT. Maybe DT can fill the gap if there is a market for them.

I do recall on there facebook page a question asked about a tender 4MT and DT replied that it would certainly would be considered, they did a good job with the 4MT tank so I'm sure the tender version would be great to.

I hope they are doing maybe a steam locomotive alongside the coaching stock, would be nice and they have been quiet since April after losing the King project and we not had many kettles released for awhile. There is one it seems from meshtool soon, but otherwise there has really only been about two since last October.

Yeah, seems a bit of a shame about the King. But I suppose money talks!

Correct a set of period 3 coaches is in production. Unfortunately I'm away from home until late this evening, so the only screenshot I can post is one I sent in an email a few days ago. I'll post it in the Screenshots/Work in progress thread.

Glad I did not choose the Maunsell's.

Really glad you're doing so many splendid coaches, Gordon. Coaches have been rather sidelined in RW so far. It's especially welcome as I don't really follow the post Mark 1 era with any great fervour and Mark 1's have become ubiquitous.

On another note some us do have a 5MT in RW but I don't think it has ever been widely available.

I think there have been a few more than that

Off the top of my head

Flying Scotsman
57XX Pannier (Falmouth)
56XX
2 versions of the LMS Coronation (streamlined & non-streamlined)
Maunsell U Class (freeware)
4 tank locos of various design with MT's East Somerset Railway

But more kettles are always welcome :)

Certainly looks like a set of Maunsell coaches to me. One thing i would like to know though is what happened to the Gresley Teak's that they were producing, some shots of it were released on the old DT site when the Standard 4 and Bulleid's were still in the development stage. I may have the photo saved on my laptop somwhere.

From what I recall it was for a upcoming LNER locomotive which never got the light of day and I'm sure it was nearly a year ago for that comment.

I know they'd look just as appropriate with a Bulleid, though more specifically given the designer and period, it could be just as likely that these will be paired with more elderly designs such as the T9, M7, or a Maunsell design such as an Arthur or Nelson.

How about a nice Radial or Beattie Well Tank?

To be fair, a Radial tank - while a bit of an icon - wasn't a particularlily widespread type. You'd get more use out of an 02, for instance... plenty of those in the westcountry, and of course the IoW versions. Also there's plans easily available for 02s ;) ( and I've seen at least one reasonably advanced model, love to know what happened to that )

Arthur = Urie, Maunsell gets a lot of credit for things he didn't really do. Then again so does Collett...
My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.
