Announcement from Just Trains - Class 153 update

Post by MisterWho »

Found this on the Just Trains website this morning -

"An Advanced version of Class 153 DMU will be on sale soon.

This will be the first release in our new Advanced range of add-ons, developed to bring you the most realistic and accurate driving experience and simulation features possible in RailWorks.

The Class 153 DMU has been significantly upgraded to this new Advanced standard and we will be making it available FREE to all existing Class 153 DMU owners!

New purchasers will be able to take advantage of a special low price for a limited time once the locomotive goes on sale by Download.

Full details will be available shortly."

Great news. Lovely model, but got rather caught out by the 156 in terms of sounds physics and features released at the same time, which raised the bar for everyone.

This is a welcome update, are there any mentions of what exactly is included? I assume this will also make it TS2012 ready? Also how 'soon' is soon?

For anyone who hasnt seen on Facebook, JustTrains posted this 'sneak preview' video of the advanced Class 153 a couple of weeks back...

Doesnt really show much apart from the AWS self test and vigilance device and of course some of the new sounds! :D

I'm hoping that there are seperate sounds for inside the cab and different ones for outside, and that the distinctive 153 revving sound has been reproduced well ...aka Loud and Bassy! ;)

They were asking on facebook for real life 153 drivers back along, so i'm guessing the physics and operational realism will be verified by the experts. reassuring to know!

I'm a bit skeptical at the moment. Having new sounds and glitter is good, but the brakes still don't look like they have been fixed. That first stop in the video was a prime example (notch 3 the whole platform length just to stop from 35mph).

I will welcome the new version with open arms anyway.
