NEC Initial Observations

Post by conburt »

Installed NEC yesterday and after the long wait & all the pre-release hype I was a bit disappointed with the result. Firstly they boast freeroam & 8 scenarios whereas it is 4 freeroam & 4 scenarios. The cab view is to say the least dreadful. 75% of the monitor is black. The graphics compared to say AS KOEBLITZER- BERGAL and other German routes is poor. Very disappointed.

Well, going by the comments so far I'm going to give this one a miss. Pity, as I like a bit of US railroading.

I'm not all that bothered by reports of broken scenarios, as these seem to be endemic and are usually fixed rather sharpish. Though one is left wondering about the testing that is undertaken prior to release. Also, offering two versions of the same scenario seems to me to be utterly pointless.

I'm much more concerned with the reports of poor graphics, a low quality cab and infrastucture limitations in regard to routing possibilities. Now it may be that these reports are misplaced, but I dont, so far, see people falling over themselves to offer retorts and corrections.
