Edit: J21 :)
A K3 would be preferable and could be used all over the LNER whereas the K4 was limited to Scotland. Also for an 0-6-0 a J39 would be really welcome, I am stuck with populating my LNER route with GWR tank locos - Hanging my head in shame I creep away :-)

No. Do not be too sensitive.
We was promised a video, and a video we got. It was a US promo though.
I wanted to hear the sounds to accompany video, not some silly talk. I guess that helps hide the lack of progress in this area! That said, I looked at a little box graphically, and got detracted by the sounds.
I hope to see the rain affect with an HST at speed!
This is an international simulator, and everything what the US wants was done in GB many years ago.
In America, 100 years is a long time. In GB, 100 miles is a long way.
In terms of shunting and line occupation, you can decide you are special if you wish. I am not sure we have ever had trains that are many miles long though! What a nightmare for the signaller! We never had individual wagon delivery in our history afterall!
The value of your investments may go up as well as down.

Prehaps the new UK loco will be...class 58? That or making class 66 as core which i doubt very much, which is kinda shame as it's needed to populate GWML's freights on the era it is meant to present in RW atm (yes, i know, it TRIES to present era from 1990's to this day, but meh...)

Or another one that could fit the team, class 56, altho there's already one made.

More importantly, will the passengers have rain-coats, or will they still be in their summer outfits? :D

Best wishes

Raincoats and brollys would be good...

Re the new UK locomotive, Id like to see a few more NE locos, a Raven Q6 or Thompson B1 would be nice, but have a feeling it will be the class 73..

Yes, and they can have a change of clothes accordingly whether summer or winter! Those skimpily dressed gals must be suffering?

Lovely though this video is - it has me thinking. What about steam locos? Not wishing to complain but it is difficult enough to look out of the window of a steam loco already - and very few UK locos ever had windscreen wipers ever fitted, I seem to recall that those that did eventually had them removed anyway. The raindrop effect will be spectacular in modern traction, for sure, but less useful in steam-era scenarios surely?

Wow, did it really never rain back then? And there I was, thinking my dad had been misleading me for 38 years!

We'll just have to add the driver's arm with his rag as the wiper animation! Or just hang out the window, or *open* the window, as we already can in most cases.
The key to knowledge is not to rely on others to teach you it.

Of course it rained, all I was saying was the raindrops will make it virtually impossible to drive a RailWorks steam loco entirely from the footplate.

You will have to do what real drivers did - hang their heads out of the window.
Alan

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558

Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

This is one of my main thoughts, whatever they do, they cannot please everybody, make some happy, make some unhappy.

School of thought on keeping rain off glass in the event of windscreen wiper failure is to wipe a cut potato across the glass. Acts as a dispersant apparently, at least according to the 1967 AA Book Of The Road.

Essential accessory for all RW steam cabs from now on then.
