Again, it'd be rather silly to include a British loco that can't be run on any of the included British routes...

I find that remark insulting. Regardless of the fact that leading up to this announcement, the majority of users insisted that the AI and signalling needed a major overhaul.
This has now been conveniently overlooked, regardless of the fact no mention is made of anything being updated in that essential component of the game.
Only myself and one other poster has even mentioned the fact. :(

I don't particularly care whether it uses multi-core or not. What I do care about is whether the heavy dependence on the CPU and the heavy consumption of RAM have been relieved.

Neither of those questions are directly answered in the material available so far, but the note that says that the minimum requirements are unchanged is at least slightly promising. Currently RW2 is very hard to run properly on a minim-spec machine.

RSPaul/Derek: Have any of your testers been running on an Atom+ION or an AMD E-350 based machine? That would be a very firm indicator of whether the system requirements have fallen compared to RW2.

Oh yeah, there are no default UK electrified routes. Bummer!

Stolen from what Paul has responded with elsewhere, however, I do like the sound of it.
Thirdly track specific wagon and cab sway, as you watch the train pass, or indeed look behind you from the cab you can see the wagons rocking on the points or any bad track. That I have to say looks awesome (if I may).
Also
Finally we have sorted out the multiple engines, now you can have Dash 9's, ES44 anything actually you want lashed together... and if one breaks down... well you got a problem.

Hi, I'm guessing on the class 33 as that went quiet.

You should care if it uses multi-core or not, if it uses multi-core(as Paul Jackson confirms it does) the heavy dependency on CPU load will be shared on more than single core which is currently all Railworks ultilises correctly, having the ability to processed on more than one core is going to take considerable amount of workload off the system and RAM plus since, if one looks at the gameplay list in the FAQ, that RW3 is using some of the newer graphics technology that should mean the graphics are being pull off the processor load which is currently what RW2 does, hence rubberbanding and all sorts.

and if one breaks down...
Oh yes, random failures - now we are talking (but will we be able to request an assisting or fresh engine to top the train?!).
