Steam "summer sale" is (very) soon, so don't be disappointed if they don't show up discounted on Steam this week.

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... ?t=1942661 (hints of a new 'ARG' (promo similar to the Portal2 release / xmas treasure hunt ) and 'Summer' related acheivements added to some games.)

Nope, the sale will only be in GR's own shop. Would be too much trouble to set everything up between the 3 involved companies I guess.

Aren't Steam sales mostly on Steam's own initiative, not necessarilly the publishers'?

From my memory it takes two to tango. Steam can have a major sale but it's up to any non-Valve publishers to decide whether they want to be part of it, the incentives to participate being that it gets great exposure for their product and that even if they opt out it will still go ahead with Valve's own products on sale. During the last one (around the time of the Portal 2 release) there was a low-key involvement from RS.com with a few discounts on offer.

I also believe that non-Valve publishers can discount their own products on their own initiative outside of any major Steam sales. This is something RS.com does do at times, especially for a week or two following the release of a new route or like last month with the re-release of the UP Big Boy after they bought complete ownership of it from the developer.

Hmm... 'German Freight Traffic' and the Tanker pack looks very tempting at those prices (and due to licensing issues they apparently won't appear on Steam...)
