General Housekeeping - Scenario Testing

Post by Darpor »

Good afternoon all. After taking a look through the route menus last night, I decided to look at all the completed/nearly completed scenarios I have lying around, turns out there are more than I thought. :D Even though some were initially only for personal use, rather than just get rid of them, I am willing to finish them, write descriptions etc and make them suitable for public consumption. As these scenarios were developed over a period of time, it means there is a lot of variety, covering different traction and routes. As stated, many were for my own personal use and therefore are payware heavy for maximum realism as well as prototypical timetabling where appropriate, those who are against that need not apply.

Right, I did the first batch of four last night and do require testers for them, I'll list them as follows, with the description etc and if anyone takes an interest, please contact me via PM if you either want to test, or want the requirements list. If I can get enough people on board, the sooner I can get the scenarios out into the library for all to enjoy (hopefully  ). What I will probably do thereafter, time permitting, is just update this thread with any new scenarios completed to keep everything clear and in one place.

Scenario 1: Replacement Stock (Scenario for WCML North) Duration: 1 Hour 45 Minutes

Description
Following a serious fault occuring on a First Scotrail Class 158 unit, all of the class are being withdrawn to undergo safety checks. This has left FSR with a stock shortage and several "spare" units have been sent North from various TOC's. The latest movement north is a pair of Northern Rail Class 156's which have been moved from Newton Heath via Heaton, to Carlisle where you will now take them forward to Polmadie.

Briefing
Starting at Carlisle Citadel, you are required to await a new path at 10:50 before proceeding North. The maximum allowed speed of these units is 75mph so please make sure you adhere to it. You are not classed as a high priority service so may find yourself being held during the journey.

Notes
As mentioned in the briefing, the maximum allowed speed of the consist is 75mph. All AI movements and interactions have been created using this speed in testing. Should you wish to exceed this speed, it may affect the enjoyment of the scenario.

Scenario 2: Waiting Your Turn (Scenario for WCML North) Duration: 40 Minutes

Description
It's Autumn 2010 and today you are working a service from Edinburgh to Glasgow operated by a Class 156 DMU. No current problems have been reported.

Briefing
Operating the 11:26 First Scotrail service from Edinburgh to Glasgow Central, the scenario starts at Carfin where your first task is to release the doors to enable passengers to board/alight. You can then proceed towards the terminus at Glasgow, calling at Holytown, Bellshill, Uddingston and finally Glasgow Central.

Scenario 3: Clearing The Area (Scenario for Totham) Duration: 35 Minutes

Description
Since the complete collapse of the main line due to instablility caused by mining, work is ongoing near Merryhill to reinstate the main line connection to the capital. Clearing out the old instable spoil has generated several workings per day, to and from Axford where the spoil will be held and processed.

Briefing
In charge of double headed EWS Class 37 locomotives and a rake of SSA wagons loaded with spoil, you are required to take the loaded consist to Axford Yard. As these services have had to be included into the timetable, you are classed as a low priority and will be impeded by other services. The maximum speed of this consist is 60mph, please adhere to this.

Scenario 4: 1O11 - York to Poole (Scenario for Oxford to Paddington) Duration: 40 Minutes

Description
It's summer 1994 and Class 47's still proving the mainstay on long distance Crosscountry services. Today is no different and you are in charge of the 09:20 York to Poole service hauled by 47676 with 7 Mk2 coaches in tow.

Briefing
Starting north of Oxford, you are required to proceed into Oxford Station once given the road, where your departure is booked for 12:43. You can then proceed towards the main line with your only calling point on this leg being Reading. The maximum allowed speed of the Class 47 under passenger operations is 95mph.

Feedback for: Scenario 2: Waiting Your Turn (Scenario for WCML North) Duration: 40 Minutes

Very good activity and intresting amount of stock movement also for keeping an eye on signals. Did it in about 40 minutes.

Arrrive at 3/5 stations on time, the other times where me forgetting how to move the 156 off and being a bit causious behind Yellows & Reds, also had a spad but my fault completely as not used to approaching Glasgow Central, and not be under amber or green aspects.

Will test 3 & 4 tomorrow.

Is scenario 4 still open for testing?

(NB: If so, please list the payware it requires, in case I don't have the required assets).
