Yippety doo dar what an unexpected surprise to see this little beauty rear it's pristine head today in the downloads section!!!

Crouch Valley 1 was a masterpiece of freeware talent when it was first released and is probably my favourite freeware route. Version 2 extended, improved and added to has got me banging my head against the desk that I'm stuck in work!!

To anyone who has not yet dabbled with Crouch Valley then prepare to be impressed because this is a scorcher of a route with even v1 being on par with many payware routes.

Looks like a really nice route indeed - but how are you supposed to get the Cl317 moving?? I've released brakes, set reverser to forward - but neither the 'A' nor 'D' keys respond, and manipulating the throttle on the F4 panel just makes it drop back to 0% at once....

I presume it may be the input mappers that will need placing in the RailSimulatorCore folder. I am not sure whether the Kuju path has been included with the route files, or just to the DRB_Simstuff folder.

They're in the DRB_Simstuff folder (I guess this got changed with the upgraded model). Looks like the controls take some time to react tho... Seems like the Class 86 that the controls are best manipulated with the mouse in the '1' view, using the F4 or the keyboard (which has become a 'bad habit' among some of us, no matter which view) might not work as well...

I think they need to go in both folders as the 317 readme has always said:- (substituted for RW folder structure of course)
Copy the file cl317_mapper.bin to the directory
<RailSim home directory>\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorCore\InputMappers.

You can try making a DRB_simstuff\inputmappers folder too, seems the game looks for them relative to the blueprint path.

There already is a DRB_Simstuff\InputMappers folder with the relevant .bin files. As I said in my reply to Darpor it seems that the controls work best when manipulated in the '1' view with the mouse, instead of using the keyboard or the F4 menu. I.E. a bit similar to the Class 86 with WCML.

I've never had any problems with Dave's stuff with the keyboard... occasionally the sensitivity is off, but not enough to not be able to comfortably use keys. What's the matter with it?

As I said, at least for me, trying to use the keyboard or the F4 menu to drive only makes the throttle pop back to 0%, using the mouse to operate it in '1' view seems to work fine tho.

Right, didn't catch that the keyboard does the same. Well that's odd... although the key sensitivity does depend on how fast your PC is. It predates the F4 display completely, I think.

But the readme tells you to put it in the core files, have you not tried this?
