Well i think you have just hit the nail on the head
The other point I'd like to make is perhaps a more philosophical one. Creating content for Railworks is, to an extent, an artistic process, and the creator has an artistic vision behind it. Particularly in freeware creation, where there is no commercial influence and pressure to produce things which will sell well. I would encourage anyone who wants to create a scenario to use what they can and want to best demonstrate their original idea, be it a scenario produced using working timetables and stock diagrams for 100% accuracy, or a more fanciful vision produced in the creator's mind (something which I've enjoyed doing in the scenario editor). Would you tell a painter to use different colours to make their work more popular?
this is just how i look at scenario creation ,just nice to capture the atmosphere at that point in time which in most cases has long gone lost in my youth . this cant be captured with default assets alone.

As many others have said i also agree with Transadelaide.

Yes the activites i have uploaded are rather losely based on RL actitivity or just completely fictional, The latest one i uploaded had varied DLC in it, to add to the realism and what is actually found on the ESR. As the stock from DT's Mark 1's & RSC 67 stock was handy for me.

But i can see OP's concerns though, and will try to use more default stuff with them. Although RW-Tools is incredibly handy for exchanging out stock you don't have and need to replace :)

I created a number of scenarios only requiring a very modest amount of additional stock. If you don't want to spend a lot of time changing downloaded scenarios you may check them out at UKTS.

Out of interest, how long does it take to create a scenario (generally, I know that some will be more detailed than others) for the first time. Is it a fiddly process? Lots of trial and error to test the thing? I'd love to play more of the scenarios on this site but can't afford quite as much payware as some, so probably should have a go at making my own.

Erm, anything between an hour for a simple one, to a few days worth of work when Railworks is feeling stubborn and won't get your AI right and a lot of testing is involved.

The most time consuming part of scenario creation is in the time taken to test it. I'm currently putting together a fairly complex 4 parter for the E&G route with approximately 20 peices of AI traffic in each part. Laying down each peice of AI and programming it probably takes about 5 minutes, so about 2 hours for that and your player train. Each scenario is roughly an hour long and probably takes about 4 or 5 tests to get the AI correct (Particularly frustrating when the AI is not playing at the end of the scenario). So if it all goes to plan then each hour long scenario will take about 7 - 8 hours to complete, however if it doesn't go to plan you could easily double that.

Of course an awful lot comes down to experience and someone adept at scenario making may do the above in 2 or 3 hours, its all about getting to know the editor and its limitations. Experiment and find out what it can and cannot do and work with what it can do, which is surprisingly quite a lot.
