Not quite - we're still missing the 458 if memory serves and I believe that these can sometimes be seen at Guildford operating the Ascot shuttle?fgwfan wrote: So looking forward to this it looks amazing all we need is the swt class 444 then the set is complete!

Indeed Weekdays only unfortunately but always shoved in the Carriage sidings with additonal 455's at guildford during the Weekend, hopefully if SWT go ahead and buy the 460's (Ex Gatwick Express Junipers)(thats if they have a franchise after tonights fiascos) the 460's then we may see them work the entire Diagrams for the shuttles 7 days a week... Then those horid Desiros they use on the shuttle will be deployed back to SWML duties.. Or so the plan was..gswindale wrote:Not quite - we're still missing the 458 if memory serves and I believe that these can sometimes be seen at Guildford operating the Ascot shuttle?fgwfan wrote: So looking forward to this it looks amazing all we need is the swt class 444 then the set is complete!

According to one of the SWT bulletins at the depots, the platforms on the "windsor side" are being extended between now and december (next year others are to be extended) to allow for the 10 car project, the stock is to be announced end of november beginning of December, the original plan was for 8 458 units to be left as is for the Guildford-Ascot branch which would free up three 4 car 450 units Monday to friday and five 4 car 450 units on weekends for other lines/services. The rest of the fleet are to have one trailer coach of a 460 fitted to the current 4 car configuration to make a 5 car unit and to have a Desiro style front cab fitted to allow passengers to be able to walk between two units in multiple, which is currently unable to be done with the current setup of the 458's. However this is still unknown if this will be the case but is the most likely thing to happen.Slammer423 wrote:Indeed Weekdays only unfortunately but always shoved in the Carriage sidings with additonal 455's at guildford during the Weekend, hopefully if SWT go ahead and buy the 460's (Ex Gatwick Express Junipers)(thats if they have a franchise after tonights fiascos) the 460's then we may see them work the entire Diagrams for the shuttles 7 days a week... Re: Cheeky request: 455/8 SWT reskin
I don't live south of the Thames ( well I do, just not in the southeast ) nor do I own the Portsmouth route, so has anyone got a list of suitable destinations for a SWT 455?

may be of some assistance; however they do occasionally stray onto the Reading line.

Oh, that's ... comprehensive, and somehow I managed not to read that part of that page. C'est la vie!

To start you off (from memory):Kariban wrote:I don't live south of the Thames ( well I do, just not in the southeast ) nor do I own the Portsmouth route, so has anyone got a list of suitable destinations for a SWT 455?
London Waterloo - via Woking - via Chobham - via Epsom
Guildford (same options)
Woking
Strawberry Hill
Hampton Court
Dorking
and I think
Epsom Downs
Effingham Junction
Richmond
Hounslow
Ascot
-though I'm less sure about Reading line stock diagramming. The inner suburbans (e.g. Hampton Court) and the Guildford slows are the mainstay of the SWT 455s.

Okay. I was going to add the odd Portsmouth line destinations too ( I know they don't really go there ), but I actually don't know what stations are on the route :p

Re: Cheeky request: 455/8 SWT reskin
Woking, Guildford, Haslemere, Havant, Fratton, Portsmouth & Southsea and Portsmouth Harbour come to mind as the main stations. As well as Waterloo for travelling the other way.
