With an ever increasing influx of new users to Railworks, what do you spend most of your time doing on the sim?
I think it would be interesting to see the results.

I would class myself as a builder. I've got three routes on the go and I'm starting reskinning for the UKTS Freeware pack.
The only driving I do is to test my own route, try out a newly released route or if I'm asked to test by a fellow builder.

Can I not select two? :D

I'll select the one that is most obvious for me though.

I'd select all three if I had the chance, but building assets is where its at for me at the moment.

Building, since I take immediate advantage of newly-released stock and make routes for them. And, nowadays, route templates.

I enjoy a 'play' (drive) whilst testing a route however.

I would have selected more than one as well, but scenario creation is my main thing. Most of my driving is checking to see that the scenario works :D

99% of the time driving, although dabbling with scenario creation as well.

I would like to spend the majority of my time driving. However, I spend more time creating and tinkering with scenarios, and trying to sidestep RW bugs in them... :o

Route Builder - Driving 50/50 - favoured time split, but until my WIP route complete -- 90/10 in favour of routebuilding.

Simulating proper driving can't be achieved in RW ;)

I wish scenario creators would make entire "rosters" for example a driver at Hereton on W&B so you can select a Hereton - Castleford run at any time of the day, or maybe a Aber-Y-Strad return at any time of the day. Unfortunately RW is only good for "one off" scenarios.

It's just driving for me, just haven't got the patience for the other two, if I do have ago at scenarios it's usually just to do the player train as adding AI trains is far too much hassle for me.

I've totally forgotten what driving is like. From memory I enjoyed it. Damn building and skinning for being addictive.... :D

I enjoy route building and driving. I also create scenarios, but I don't particularly enjoy doing so; and in testing them I drive them too much for them to be of any real enjoyment (other than the fact they actually work!).

For driving, I enjoy:
- The concentration required
- The sense of exploring a route (when it's new)
- Getting to grips with the traction. My favourite scenarios are short-medium distance commuter drives; but I also enjoy the odd intercity trips and some freight.
- A sense of being in control and the responsibility of getting things right (braking distances/keeping time/speed).

For route building, I enjoy:
- The fact no concentration is required for a long period. I can hop in and out as I want.
- The sense of recreating a world.
- The technical aspects such as signalling and file 'manipulation' associated with getting things to work the way they should.
- The creative outlet. Not just the placing of assets, but all aspects of route building.

Scenario creator 80% of the time and driver the rest.

I enjoy the creative aspect of scenario creation and always try to make it a little more than just an A - B trip with a few AIs, the best ones get released here as my way of supporting and giving something back to the community.
