Hi mate, Yes indeed they were, I have a book somewhere about the railways in and around the south wales valleys and many 56xxs found themselves on passenger duties, a noteable one would be piloting passenger services into Barry Island station, I have even seen a picture once of a 56xx sandwiched between 2 auto coaches!
They were regularly used on passenger services on the valley lines. Their services consisted usually of 5 or 6 non-corridor suburban coaches. Taff Vale A class, large prairies and even 57xx locomotives were also used.
Auto-fitted 45xx locos were used with auto trains.

They seem to be in karma99, at least I now have that directory where I didn't before, and that's where I found the engine script.

I don't know whether they would overwrite a previous freeware version of the wagons.
The key to knowledge is not to rely on others to teach you it.

Absolutely agree, good summary ;)

I must say that I have been lucky enough as to have been given the chance to try the beta version of this work of art, and that alone was the reason why I decided to learn to drive a steam locomotive properly, getting rid of the auto fireman. Even when failing to complete a scenario beacuse of a catastrophic issue or simply stalling on a tough gradient is more rewarding imho than driving a diesel that responds like a Ferrari

Of course I do not wish to convince anyone, just express my very own personal opinion.

Hi

I'd like to encourage everyone who has bought the 56xx to run the "Doing Your Part" scenario. But I'm not going to say why... 8)

In fact I'm surprised nobody has commented on it already.

Cheers

Brilliant loco, getting used to the 'new' controls now, overall well worth the money!
Goes well with the ESR. :)
Many thanks to everyone involved.

I'd just like to add my thanks to the parties who put the manual together; it's the first time I've actually looked at one for Railworks and actually wanted to read it, rather than just skim for the bit of info I need. Very nice work all round

btw is it normal to leave the ejector open while applying the brakes? I mean I watched a cab ride video on youtube and the driver turns on the ejector then applies the brake.

Not sure what to do hehe. But here is the video.

Hi Andy

If you open the ejector when braking then you'll get finer control of the brakes - you can see in the clip he's applying and then releasing the brakes as he comes to a stop. This is the same as with the RW 56xx. If you leave the ejector closed then the brakes won't come off, so I suppose the answer to your question is yes.

Nice clip, by the way. It looks like it's easier to drive the real thing! :D

Nice video. I know both people on the footplate on that video, and a bit off topic nice to see 5637, has a proper brake handle/ assemble on it.

I've got used to using the Cyclinder cocks & Small enjector now :) Also finial testing & changing typos on an activity for the ESR which has a bit of shunting and passenger work on it :)

Chris
Rising Storm -Name is in the credits :D - To Do scenario, where you go along at 50mph in a Pendo? Who would play it?
Anyone want to help in Play Testing future Rising Storm/ Ro2 Maps? If so please PM me.
