I echo Varney's points above, but a few other nit picks in the cab:

AWS and Loudaphone panel too wide, main instrument panel too deep, front cab window
looks a bit narrow. Outside, if its an ex-works unit the recessed area behind the
jumpers would be clean (yellow) and the buckeye is normally 'up' in service.
Other than that it looks great, and I for one have wanted this model for a long
time. Having spent a fair bit of time in these units it would be great if they are as
near perfect as can be.. Hope RS.com don't mind a bit of constructive criticism :D

It's owned by RSC, why not.

A video's also been posted of the unit:

I personally can't wait for this one so I can finally relive the days of thundering around on these units. :)

A couple of observations:
Sounds - Not good at all. The AWS should ring - not bing. No 'clicking' noise from the brake handle but wierd noise from the direction lever. Not quite sure what the funny sound is at 0:18 on the video.
Numbering - A bit all over the place - needs tidying up.
Liveries - The black half moon & black front gangways didn't exist on the blue/grey livery. The ends were fully yellow and the gangways where also yellow on the outside (although normally dirty) as can be seen here:
http://www.semgonline.com/gallery/class421_02.html.
I would also say the grey panel is a little to large - the lower blue should raise up higher to just below the windows (only a lttle though)
The NSE livery looks pretty good. Only things noticable are the cab side windows shouldn't be grey - they should be red. The coach numbers wouldn't have the letter S before them and the set numbers wouldn't be 73xx or 74xx - they would be 13xx, 17xx, 18xx or 19xx.
Buckeye - Should really be in the raised position - Very rare for a SR unit to run with the buckeye 'dropped'.
Initial thoughts are mixed - a few errors in there - not like the class 101 which was very good.

Out of Interest, are those the sounds from that Modern EMU ( 450 was it ? ) from the Portsmouth addon, with what sounds like the high tone from the 86. Not having the Portsmouth addon I don't actually know. Its a real shame that the sounds aren't that brilliant, unlike the excellent soundset we had on the BVE 421. Although I do appreciate that there are no examples running anymore.

Actually seems Derek is working on the finalisation of the CIG so I'm sure we can expect any comments to be taken into interest and looked at, his own comment in the picture facebook comment bit even mentions this aswell as noted just above that the sounds are not final.

Apart from some of the compressor and brake noises, aren't the engine sounds similiar to whats running on the the 2nd gen EMU's up to class 321 and 325 and up to 456 on the 3rd rail units.

Seems a shame that we cannot recreate that motor whine. 10 years of simming I have been waiting and sadly its not going to happen next week. Great looking unit though

I think the sounds are the same as the ones in use in the tube stock on the IOW route.

I'm a bit disappointed that only 2 liveries are included. Would be prepared to pay more if green, Jaffa cake & SWT was included. Also the 4-BIG doesn't seem to be included. Shame really.

Its looking good. Yes the sounds deffo need sorting.

Given teh HST has a "ringing" for a clear AWS, why hasn't the CIG yet? Seems odd to me.

NSE blue panel doesn't go down far enough below the windows, it throws the proportions off. Normally wouldn't mention small livery inaccuracies, but that's been throwing off the whole side of the model for me. I'd like some screenshots with a different FOV/angle, something about the windows aren't working for me in those shots but I think it's the actual shots.

I see what you mean, comparing the FB pic to a real one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:1879_ ... _Cross.jpg
