One from me

Is there any plans to improve ambient lighting at stations?
Especially at large covered stations such as Paddington or Glasgow Central where the whole station is fully illuminated in real life.

Regards
Phil

Another couple from me. Don't think either have been mentioned yet.
  • Are there plans to change the HUD into a modular layout so that panels can be moved to where the user wants them and individually enabled disabled. All I want is the speed limit and signal location scrolling panel. Even on my 27" 2560 x 1440 screen the F4 hud takes a considerably amount of space. For me the left and right edges (due to the widescreen monitor) are by far the best places. As everyone will be different if they were movable by the user we would all be happy :)
  • Are there plans to improve on the error in line 113 error messages to indicate the file that has failed so that it is obvious to the user which file is corrupt rather than being guess work.

TheTazman wrote:Just to tack on to the back of this. Is there a limit to the amount of keys that can be assigned to utilize features within a train. You have the keyboard layout card... but what if a developer wanted to create a feature that needed a new key to be allocated to work that feature. Can the developer activate a key thats not already being used? Hope you understand what i mean.
Just noticed this: this is what the inputmapper does already. If the feature can be controlled by a controller then it can be assigned a key. I've no idea if you can extend the hotkeys for the HUDs.

* Going on from Bill's questions, can we expect some incremental loading/unloading of routes and assets? that way there would potentially be absolutely no limit to the size of a route, and they'd all load initially in the same time. Something somewhere would have to check the route isn't broken but the game already doesn't fully check a scenario as it is, or it'd SBHH on load rather than halfway through. With multicore you could devote a thread to checking the route ahead anyway, and then have it gradually go check anything else in the install that needs checking.

One thing I'd like to see is a maximum frame rate - this would reduce the more minor stutters and give a smoother run where the frame rate could maintain this maximum.

When will Multiplayer go into the BETA phases?
And
Can you shed some light onto what Multiplayer will be like?

Is there any chance of an option to disable the AWS for us out of cab drivers, so that we can appreciate the scenery without countless emergency brake applications?

Thanks
Mike

Whatever happened to the visual AWS warning that popped up when we drove out of the cab? That was very handy, and im sure many of us would like to see that back please, as i for one do not use the HUD, i find it takes up too much screen space and slows the sim down too much, my pc develops a cold sweat when i click 'play' on a Wales And Borders or a Glasgow-starting WCML North scenario as it is! :D

Also, im not a route builder, i just like to drive and appreciate other peoples fantastic routes and scenario's, so all i really want to know is:

1: Can we have the visual AWS warning icon for out of cab views please??

2: Will the rear HST powercar and multiple working sounds absence will be rectified?

3: Also, will you be implementing the ability to use a DVT? That is the one piece of rolling stock that i think is missing from the WCML North route!

4: Lastly, will you be updating the original RS class 47 model, maybe with some variants? Its screaming out for it, it looks so dated now!

Cheers,
Terrone. :D

It was, quite some time ago. MW sounds are sorta updating slowly. I think there's an AWS button on the F4 hud btw.

I will add to this; is there any seperation of cab and running of an engine simulation coming? Cabs are not necessarily all in engines ( in the case of radio control, not even in the train! not that that would take more than cameras shared across trains, which is another thought. ). Really it's an issue about the multiple working and lack of multiple simulation, but it would be nice to know if that extra step has been... stepped.

Yeah DVTs are needed too. There is a LOT of those running in continental Europe(mostly at Germany, Hungary, Austria), but there are some in UK too.

Will you fix the "shaky cab" bug?

A few, mainly related to Scenario creation:

- Will be we able to add temporary speed restrictions?

- Will we be able to limit a train's maximum speed when creating an Scenario, ie depending on the train's headcode or class

- Check signals better performance, please. Semaphores in what's supposed to be absolute block are not - with most distant signals being cleared for the opposite direction in single lines, or the home showing clear when a train enters the station in the opposite direction. With signal and points interlocking this should be impossible, yet it's happening in RW...

Oh. I never realised that about the sounds, that one must have passed me by! :o lol. I just thought that various people e.g. Richard Armstrong had managed to 'work around' it somehow! There is an AWS button on the HUD but like i mentioned, i dont use it, i don't like it. Thanks for the info Kariban, appreciate it mate.

p.s.

We really need to be able to use DVT's! :D

Terrone.
