Buildings and Locos that I need for my Route.

Post by manormadman »

Hi
At the moment I am building the East Somerset Railway for RW and I need some buildings or Locos for it. But I unfortunatly have no clue at all how to do 3d modelling. If anybody wants to do some then say on here and I will PM you some pics and other bits and bobs. Unfortunatly I cannot get scale drawings or any other gubbins. These are what I need:
Buildings:
Cranmore Station building, other platform buildings, signal box, Sheds, Water Tower and smaller coaling stage.
Locos:
Moorbarrow (0-6-0ST, outside cylinders)
705 (0-4-0ST, outside cylinders)
Lady Nan (0-4-0ST, outside cylinders)
Lord Fisher (0-4-0ST, outside cylinders)
And if anybody is local who can provide pictures then please pm me.
Thanks

You might be lucky but I wouldn't hold your breath.

The only guaranteed method of getting the stuff you want in your route is to buy a 3D modelling programme and attempt it yourself. There's not that many people producing freeware stuff for Railworks and "gimmie pig" style requests do tend to get ignored, unless one of the items strikes a chord.

Where can I get a 3D modelling program for Railworks?

Thankyou Vern, But where can you get a free easy 3d modelling program?

Hi

Check out GIMP and Blender. I don't have any experience of Blender unfortunately, but given a bit of time to learn the software the results you can produce with it can be absolutely staggering.

Cheers

Also don't be afraid to utilise some of the default or add on content already available.

The S&D buildings aren't going to look too out of place on a Cranmore based route. IOW comes with some saddle tank locos and vintage coaching stock and if you're at all serious about route building you will probably already have purchased this for the included assets - it's pretty much essential.
