I have been downloading a few routes for Railworks but have hit problems with Aln Valley.
It doesn't seem to want to be set up!
I have downloaded all files with the words 'Aln Valley' in them but I just cannot get Aln valley to appear in the route list.
Any help would be appreciated.
Alan.

Malky,
Thanks for that.
I have downloaded the route you sent. Although I am '7 zipping' it into what else exists of the Aln Valley, I am getting 'unspecified error' whenever I try to install it. Any idea where I'm going wrong?

The route itself is packaged up in the standard Railworks .rwp format, so is easiest installed using the Package Manager function of Railworks. If you are not sure how to do this, see http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=116841 from the FAQ section.

PS.
As a final comment, I do not find Railworks an easy challenge and only the paid for routes work for me.
I have downloaded several others including, Oban, Dumfries and Alnwick amongst others and all come up with messages stating that the route will not work as stock or something else is missing.

I think I may go back to the comparatively easy MSTS.

The thing is, though, that MSTS acts won't work unless set up correctly or with missing stock either.

It's just a question of getting to know a different way of doing things.

I am more confused as to why it won't show up in the route list, Aln Valley specifically. What exactly have you done so far Alan? There should be no need to use anything like 7-Zip to install a route that comes in .rwp format.

I downloaded all the files which mention Aln Valley in their name.
I then went into Railworks itself and then into Package manager.
I press install and although the required AV routes appear, nothing will happen unless I press 7zip and try to combine the AV routes together.
If I do not do this,
I get the message 'Unhandled Exception' and no further action occurs. I have checked your guidelines and although I seem to be following them to the letter, I just cannot obtain Aln Valley as a runable route.
