Sorry. Great minds.
Re: Announcing the Great Northern Railway [Kings Cross]
Crivens! This'll be interesting given that it's one of my "local" routes
Now for the inevitable punch-up between those of us "Oldies" who would like to see it at the height of BR blueness, the "proper Oldies" for whom kettles are where it's at and the "young whipper-snappers" for whom a 313 itself is a relic
Cheers, Rik.

Ding, ding, round one. You are quite right, we all like differing time periods. I'll certainly be looking at how much work is involved in getting it back to 1975 - 1982.Wikkus wrote:Now for the inevitable punch-up between those of us "Oldies" who would like to see it at the height of BR blueness

Re: Announcing the Great Northern Railway [Kings Cross]
Base it late 70s,can still have the 313s and colour signals and wires....... much more interesting!
Still, this will be a wonderful route, presumably with northward extensions in months/years after release?
I will now return to worship the church of napier.......
Cheers,
Mark

I would like to see a GNR of 1910 rather than 2010, but it's great to get any new route.
A 1960/70s track layout and infrastructure would give more flexibility but hey.

I agree - but I suspect we oldies are in a (decreasing) minority.rabid wrote:I would like to see a GNR of 1910 rather than 2010, but it's great to get any new route.

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558
Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.

I dont know, there must be a an AWFUL lot of people out there who have seen 'The Lady Killers'. Unless it includes the now demolished warehouses and the never was Mrs Lopsided house, Im not sure I want it.

I'm no oldie! I can assure you that there are many other people from my generation that would love to see it in its past form!
Mainly because you can run half interesting trains realistically rather than todays tosh!

One of my favourite routes for MSTS was Mid-East, used to love pulling out of Kings's Cross in the Deltic or equally a Cravens DMU.

I'll happily add my name to the oldies list, would be great to see 31's going to Moorgate on suburban stock with Deltics powering out of the Cross.......oh well

I can't see why you can't run the old trains on this route, other than AWS, TPWS and a few buildings being different (which could just be removed I guess)?

Re: Announcing the Great Northern Railway [Kings Cross]
I too will definately be purchasing it as well as the other routes announced.
Just a shame that most payware routes seem to be steam or present day.
