YouTube used to have a scheme whereby some users could upload videos of any length. Other users got a 10-minute limit. We have no way of knowing whether you were among the chosen few.

In any case, that scheme has now been discontinued. Existing videos remain, but now everyone is subject to a 15-minute limit.
