Railworks version 114.1b

Post by sad27 »

Does anyone have the same problems like me in the world editor in this version of Railworks? I don't know when 144.1b is build, so I don't know if this is a RW problem, or something of my new textures and assets is causing problems..

It's about these problems:

-crashing in the editor when. (with message 'something bad happened..';written to error code 0 ?)

-using paint tools with ground textures --> crash
-changing from paint tools to linear objects, just before drawing the linear object --> crash

I also got crashes, also in the asset editor when making particles of my own..does anyone know which settings in those bleuprints can cause crashes?

I don't expect a solutions just maby some 'I have that too' reactions, so delete one of my list...

Hi SAD,

Are these problems in areas of high scenery density ? - Have you tried the same actions in an area that has very few assets ?

I've only had similar crashes when I've hit memory overload on my Laptop - the same 'problem' route on my more powerful Desktop PC gave no crashes. Even on the Laptop the crash was only occasional and could be cured by only running RW2.

The only other crash I've seen is in the Blueprint Editor when I've made a Blueprint and then I try to swap to another Blueprint, or to make another Blueprint.

Cheers

I've been using the Route Editor under 114.1b the last couple of weeks and can't recall any stability or crashing issues. However my route is largely using built in or items from RSC payware, the only third party item I have enabled is Lanky tracks.

The only thing I have noticed is that loading seems to take an age, whether starting the programme or firing up the world editor - it's only a 12 mile or so route but takes 3 or 4 minutes to load, quite often generating the Vista "Not Responding" message at the top of the screen while waiting.

It is quite a dense area, but this should not be the problem, because I had those area's before.
I tried something to avoid crashes:

-When I delete the scenery (moved the folder for a while) the crashes stops when painting the environment. So the combination of the scenery and paiting tool causes the error.
-When copying all route content to another route except the Networks folder no crashed occur, even in the dense scenery environment.. So when all assets are there, painting causes the error..
-The error log after the crash is empty (error 0)

The question get's bigger any minute..but it is rather making me crazy, almost impossible to finish the work on an normal speed this way...

Thanks for your answers by the time, I think the problem is mine... Sadly ;)

hi ...

I had before the update from 114.1 b is always this error when drawing the Groundtextures. Shut Down, no Chrashtext.
After the last update, but the crashes have not occurred.
However, I have installed for my NVidia GTX 275 a new driver.

That was why I had already suspected that this version is not sensibly previously worked together with my driver.
I have now installed version 290.99 NV driver and not a single crash on Vista 64 bit.

Perhaps the video card drivers are updated.
I think that the graphics card is involved.

Happy New Year

Hi Sad,

I get the first issue, but it is in a very low density area where I haven't placed anything yet.

Thanks ICE, I did not think about that, I will give it a look. I think I have the same graphic card, so this could help.

Regards SAD.

By the way, the error did not occur when working in the editor form another scenario..could be luck. The error does occur on very different interval time...
In that lucky time I could finish my route scenery and painting. Now I am working on the km-signs along the track.. Last week of working is entered. :D
