Amazing Matt. Good old girl Pitchford's got her bark back :D Love the brake squeal too.
Cheers Stephen. Glad you like them!.........Major sound update coming for the black 5! I've worked out putting in a VITAL black 5 sound thats been missing! Can anyone guess what it is? Regards Matt
Hmmm, where to start? ;) A nice, proper set of motion clanks would be a great place to start :).

Ah yes Matt, nicely done motion clank and whistle, I never got the 45407 sounds into the default 5s, indeed I'm sure 44871 was missing them for some reason.

Hope your sounds are up to the already usual standard.

The more the merrier Matt.

As long as it enhances existing class models it's all good.

Therefore I'm particularly interested in your 3F, Prairie and Hall sounds at present.

Those are excellent Matt!
Love the way you're starting to leverage the controllers to change the pacing and types of sounds to fit the locos state of running. Aliased to a loco with similar particle emitter setups the result is going to be stunning :)

Evening Matt,

Fantastic work with the 5s (both of them) - really brings the locos to life!.
It would be fantastic if RS.Com would be willing to incorporate improved soundsets with their older default models, so that they'd not need to be reinstalled each and every time Steam updates the program...

Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

Matt, you big tease you  .

Just one thing I can say "Fantasicdabbydozy" and I especially liked best of all, that I never heard that awful (Tinny) RSC 'Default' Clank sound anywhere, not once, absolutely brilliant mate.

The RSC Steam "sounds" have always been, for me, a big let down and although some improvements have been made by them on their latter released Loco's, your sounds are going to make an enormous difference to all the Steam loco fans and you are doing a superb job.

I have been using some Steam Loco sounds recorded by Mark Howarth (that unfortunately he could not release to the Community) and yours will fit in very nicely alongside these, bringing the Railworks Steam Loco 'driving experience' truly into life. Thanks again for all the had work you have put in, much appreciated.

Beautiful, suddenly we realise what is possible in this sim. Amazing work and huge thanks. Love the Mogul sounds, nice to do justice to a niche loco.

I have to say its quite amazing to see just in a shortwhile how far you have come with the soundsets, it really is showing what abit of determination and hard work can do to bring old soundsets up to a more realistic standard.

Immersion is the key here, a user of a simulator is wanting to have a computer representation of what they have seen in a video or in real life and wish to recreate that experience in there home without the added cost of travelling or the difficulty of getting or seeing what they want to see, a good example is aircraft, in these times of security and terrorism its very difficult to be a plane spotter for example without being pulled up by security and the same could be said for steam fans who wish to photo railtours in large stations, but I regress from the what I'm trying to say.

Arguably in 2years the modelling standard for Railworks has progressed in leaps and bounds but admittly the sound department has lagged behind on occasions and with the help of people from Armstrong Powerhouse the diesel fleet of locomotives have been vastly improved with new soundsets which bring the immersion factor in strongly, I did always wonder, now why isn't there a steam locomotive version of AP? Well here we are with Matt and the others who are working on steam soundsets, and what a improvement it gives to Railworks and the locomotives.

Some may feel I'm over zealous in my praise and even border upon fanboyism, but I am being sincere in my comments, the fact is, now we are getting soundsets which are readily available to the entire community which opens up the opportunity for those with the knowledge to alias and configure existing and in the works freeware locomotives to have a close to as possible soundset to the real things, this can only improve upon existing freeware and scenarios which use them and bring the entire scenario environment to life.

I think if the end result is that Railworks lives longer, which it seems it will after what has been seen in just 2 years, and it also allows to freeware community to have better appreciation then its ultimately better for the entire community. Some may say, "How does a mere soundset change so much?" Well in this example a proper soundset for multiple steam era locomotives allows scenarios to sound more alive, which encourages route builders to make there steam era routes aswell as engaging and busy activities with multiple steam engines. This can then spur rolling stock builders to make more passenger and freight stock aswell as even engines, ultimately the dominio effect could be endless and rewarding.

Now I'll stop waffling and get back to my tea and biccies.

Keep up the good work on these sounds Matt, You have added life into the Jubilee add on!!! just need nicer LMS textures now :P do you edit the files them selves or just import them? as it would be good to have on the B key that doot whistle but extend the end like Doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot for these nice speed shots flying through stations on a non stopper or freight :P
