Re: MW_Sound packs coming to Railworks
Apply the patch noted a few posts before and the black 5 shouldn't SBHH anymore, didn't for me after applying it and I was getting it after departure all the time.
Re: MW_Sound packs coming to Railworks
Loving the sounds Matt. Really add that extra realism to the game. How do you do it?

Re: MW_Sound packs coming to Railworks
Sorry for the necro, but I needed to ask this, and I figured some other people might want to know the answer too.
So, is there any way to go in and modify the scenarios to use the new Black 5 sounds without having to individually load each one into the editor and check the box? Perhaps with RW_Tools? If I have to manually change every single scenario in the editor, then this pack is far more trouble than it's worth, no matter how good the sounds are.

Hi, I think if you tick the left hand box for 92212 within the world editor it is then available for all scenarios within the route - but will slow loading times a bit

Re: MW_Sound packs coming to Railworks
I think 'more trouble than it's worth' is a bit much! But I agree it's not ideal. It really isn't much effort at all though to load a scenario in the editor first to tick the 92212\mw_sounds boxes. Then reload to play/drive.stevetheslim wrote:Sorry for the necro, but I needed to ask this, and I figured some other people might want to know the answer too.

Re: MW_Sound packs coming to Railworks
Well, if I can do it in the world editor once per route, it'll be fine. Knowing I can do that is actually a huge relief, since I didn't do a proper backup, so I wasn't able to fully uninstall this mod. Lesson learned.
Also, since I have some other third-party locomotives that have their sound aliased to the Black 5 sounds, will this improve the sounds on them as well?

Hi Steve, as the black 5 is a default loco, a verify cache will always put the original files back if you haven't backed up and want the original sounds back

Re: MW_Sound packs coming to Railworks
These sounds are a must have, no question!
One idea.... If you had a scenery object set up in the same folder as the sounds used as a scenario scenery item, then you wouldn't have to tick the box. But you'd have to have the sounds to run the scenario.
Hardly a chore to tick the box though.....

Re: MW_Sound packs coming to Railworks
Why don't you install all of them into a folder and name it "RW batch install", or something similar, that way all you will have to do is copy the contents of the afore-mentioned folder into RW main one after it updates via Steam or you hit "verify cache". That's what I have done, by the way, and it takes me about 2 minutes to reinstall all of my sound mod files every time, and, trust me, I have got a few...stevetheslim wrote:I know, but I didn't feel like reinstalling all the sound mods I have.
Hope that helps.

Re: MW_Sound packs coming to Railworks
Why is it that these sounds work in all routes except my own? I tick the MW_Sounds, and when I come to place the Black 5, all I see is the coupling. The simulator will then crash.
I can successfully place them on all other routes and run them.

Re: MW_Sound packs coming to Railworks
Which loco are you trying to use? There are many black 5's. ALso the loco's in the UKTS Steam Freeware Pack have all same sounds from Matt and they do not require the MW_Sounds dev filter as Matt made us a special set of sounds for the packs.
Might be worth installing those:

Re: MW_Sound packs coming to Railworks
I have installed those, and get the same problem.
When the default 5s are aliased to the new MW sounds, they're fine in all routes except my own, in which they appear invisible and crash the simulator when I go to play from the scenario editor, or vice versa.
The same thing happens with the UKTS pack.
I've driven both successfully on the new GCR route - 45231 being the example I chose from the pack.
Genuinely at a loss.
