Have a read back through the last two or three pages, Jon, as there's a lot of info in there, specifically, that *some* are but others are not :) As to the 57, there's not been any confirmation as to how it actually works, hehe.

Rgds, Rik.
I can't seem to find it in detail but I have spotted a thew complaint's about power delay.

To all who are unsure having mashelled a class 57 at Garston with 200 ton in toe this is correct in fact this is the only loco with in RW that models power delay and RPM vs Amps properly almost every loco with in RW seems to put the amps up the instant you open the power handle despite the RPM being way behind but claiming The valenter is a bad example it is a shorter stroke and spools up pretty fast it's RPM is higher it's alternator weighs less and it's engine management could well be some what different since the class 57 is effectively an SD40 dressed as an Englishman

Rather than go all the way through this, have a read of this, it might just help.

Seen it very handy, but as I understand it British main line locomotives use rectifiers for field diversion since DE's don't tap rectifiers do this for them in a way.
In short the power handle controls engine RPM and the electrical equipment manages what becomes of it by method of field diversion. :scatter:

If the power handle did manage the electrical equipment there would still be a delay. :grab:

But with in our line of loco builders there may well be other methods used so what I say could be wrong :shocked!:

If you actually look at the RPM readings there is only a delay really when going into the first notch. Moving between other notches is more or less only inertia, or going from a low notch to a higher one you'll see the RPM's gradually building up faster and faster.

My apologies, Zane

Maybe I'll learn to read properly one day...

And very accurately done too a spinning engine at higher RPM is easier to spin than an engine at idle.
Keep it up Oovee :D

Apologies for the strange layout of the quoting below, the forum only allows 3 quotes within each other but I needed to include all 4.
maybe ask JustTrains for an overhaul? iirc they were redoing the Voyager.
Is it JT's to fix, i.e. did they develop it? I thought it was an in-house RSC creation?
Uh, no? RSC had nothing to do with the Voyager, if so they'd sell it through Steam, not through JT. The Voyager was developed by Railwaves, IIRC.
As has been mentioned (now that we're waaay off-topic), my reply was in response to the suggestion that JT were redoing the 66 as they were also alleged to be redoing the Voyager, the OP (with respect to the 66) having, presumably, bought their 66 from JT and assuming it was a JT product.

Phew! :D

Rik.
I presume this is the Class 66 that is being mentioned here? RSDL (now RailSimulator.com) developed that loco and we published it as a boxed and download product during the times of Rail Simulator a few years ago. Have RailSimulator.com issued an update to "fix" this issue that has been mentioned or is it still the same in the RW/RW2 version at the moment? If they've issued a fix, then if the same fix can be supplied to us we will gladly issue a patch, but if there isn't a "fix" as nothing has been changed, then we can't really be fixing something that we haven't made.

The Voyager has had a number of things upgraded and improved since release (there is a service pack available from the Just Trains support section) and we have a Tilting Voyager upgrade in the works although it is behind some more major products which we want to release first, but definitely still on schedule.

IIRC the updates in the RW version of the Class 66 consist of proper dynamic numbering for the "Red" (EWS) and "Blue" (GBRf) Class 66s, plus one extra scenario.

So back on the class 57 what else do we think could improve on perfection?

We are trying to make the windows open on the outside model too. But it may be limited to just the front cab..

I don't get the opening door thing. I did it twice for the "neat" factor, other than that it serves zero useful purposes.

Nostalgia I guess, the amount of times I've looked in an open door of a cab
