How about working DRA, like Thomson Interactive's class 170 :P

The 57 is about as good as any loco can get already I would have thought. Only rivalled by the class 31 and the SD70 and Dash 9

The Class 57/0 doesn't have a DRA...

Can I just say that I enjoy the 57/0 and recognise it as one of the best locos available to RW, period. However as I prefer passenger to freight, I'm looking forward to the 57/3 and 57/6 variants with their higher speed gearing, thunderbird duties, etc.

That said, my comments on the 57/0 are as follows:
- the sounds are superb, but disproportionately loud to almost everything else in the game. Especially in-cab. Can it be turned down a touch?
- the delayed rpm/amperage is superb, and is the only locomotive to actually make me feel as though I've got control of a massive diesel engine (as in, the thing with pistons and cylinders in the middle, not the loco itself!), but in the F5 display, the percentage throttle applied doesn't update immediately - it too scales with the rpm. I presume this is a limitation of RW, but it would be nice for the throttle percentage to reflect the lever position, so I know what I've selected, while the revs follow separately.
- I like weathered version of things. Real railways and stock are dirty, graffitied, and often neglected. Some weathered variations would be most welcome, perhaps in a "normal grime" version, and an "utterly filthy" variant. :)

There are all sorts of blatant physics issues, of course, but these affect every locomotive in RW and as such are an RSC problem. I feel as though the 57/0 is set up well to accomodate the flaws in the physics model though.

I'd really like the throttle to work with my RailDriver.

How does one improve on perfection? Just release the 57/3/6 already!! :D

Thank you.

Regarding your comments;

- Sounds are on the improvement list. Due to the tight deadlines previously we run out of time and couldn't complete the normal volume tests we pass our trains through. Cab sounds will be re-worked with new/adjusted engine volumes and sounds in cab.
- The F5 display is a problem. Our script regulates the throttle in order to produce the smooth RPM build up therefore the F5 display will show this happening on the fly. Unless we think of another way to produce this effect this problem will remain. You could always use the new driving HUD in RW2 though..
- Weathered variations are possible.

This update will be the foundations of the 57/3 & /6 so its important we get it correct before continuing forwards.

Presumably the non driver issue will be fixed or was it already, I haven't checked.

Other than that, I don't think much can be done, it's near enough flawless already.

Just a query here as i am not sure about the usage with regards to the red flashing lamp thas usually hungon the back of the engine. I am sure i have seen videos with a flashing lamp on them. Could a lamp be included some how?

Cheers

Not required since the rear tail lights are functioning. Would probably be used if it was a trailing unit with no power in real life.

Thanks for that. Sorry my knowledge is limited. I do however hoped that i can come up with the occasional good idea here and there.

I included a driver Bin File into my Neon 57s, I didn't like there being no driver (For whatever reason) so I added one, and I've today swapped it round for the RSC 31 driver.
Gives a bit more variation then other than seeing thta same 00's chap over and over.

I assume the WCRC and First Great Western liveries will be applied to the later models 57/6 ??

As Darren states, it's a bit of a headscratcher on how to improve this model, you've done us proud with it, Zane.

Cheerz. Transport Steve.

There's a mod by Kris (67016) but hopefully this can be "officially" fixed
Invalid File ID [25410]

That was all I could think of that "needs" addressing too

With regards to clank sounds, obviously there are videos and maybe wave files around that would maybe sound good on Railworks locos etc. Could people here ull togther some sounds suitble for the 57 that would sound good for it?
