As someone who is not a hard-core railfan, but rather a curious simmer, these prices are much better :D and much more in line with the hours of usage I expect to get out of them. Seriously tempted by the WCML at that price. And at £2.49 I wouldn't think twice about throwing in the MJA wagons for some modern bulk freight. And the... nngh, must restrain myself, haven't been paid this month yet. ;)

ARGH! The proper - and legendary - Steam Christmas sale has started!

From 20/12 through to 2/1 - different deals every day. Cheers :drinking:

Steam seems to be struggling tonight, took more than a few attempts and a change of server to get what I wanted into my basket and keep it there, then had to start Railworks to prompt the stuff to download, nothing else worked

When I bought the 31, Steam said that by bank with held my purchase, but I know I got charged as I checked on my online banking account, and the 31 downloaded as normal. Probably slow due to all the people taking advantage of the sales

I'm afraid the slow downloading is typical during the really big sales.

Try restarting Steam if you're having trouble with WCML, that can fix some downloading glitches.

Had the same issue, though I can't see my bank details at the moment as my security number appears locked (for the second time today :-? )

EDIT: I know banks and card providers do step up security checks at this time of year so probably nothing more than that, or a Steam glitch

It looks as though Steam's website took a crash a second ago lol. Its a "train wreck" right now due to the stampeding hoards...

It's a typical first day of the Steam sale scenario. Will do as I always do, either wait for a few more hours until it dies down or wait till around tommorow morning / lunchtime (The USA based traffic will be a bit quieter then).

Purchases can not be as instantanious as they usually are either, don't be surprised if you might have to wait an hour or two, or three for the funds to clear and the game to arrive on your Games List (Library).

There are some tempting RS.Com offers at the moment, and might buy one or two. I'm going to take a risk here though, and hold out to see if it leaps to 60/70/75% just after Christmas but before the 20% Vat increase (UK) takes place, and, well, if they don't budge and I miss out, then there is always next year!

A couple of definate "Indy" pack purchases will happen tommorow though! 8)
