Hi

You can use RW Tools to install these loading screens.

And how does one do that? Would have been much easier if the uploader had included instructions for us "non techy types" :-?
EDIT: Just looked in RWTools, isn't that for route loading screens? and not the game itself?

Hi Smarty,

RW tools makes it very easy:

Once you have opened RWTools, select "Add Route Loading Picture" from the "Route Building Tools menu located in the menu bar at the top of the RWTools window.

The "Select Route" Dialogue box is displayed. Select the route the route that you wish to change the loading for. The routes scenario's are listed in the list box underneath once you have selected a route.

Under the route list where you have just selected a route there is a row of buttons, the row is situated accross the middle of the "Select Route" dialogue box.

Click the "Add Route Loading Picture" button, RWTools will display a warining message box explaining what resolutions the image must be and what specifiv filename must be given to the image file name. I am presuming that the author of the this upload has prepared the images appropriatly in the correct format, resolution and filenames, all you need to do is simply select which image you wish to use.

Click OK to acknowledge the message box warning. An file browser dialogue box is displayed it is filtering for dds files which is the format RWTools says the images should be in (not sure what DDS files are as I am not aware of this format).
Browse to where you have saved the image files and select which on you want to use then click "Open" button.

Job done. Its more useful as a tool to scenario creators so they can add a loading screen for their route before they package it up for publishing bit of course handy too if you dont like the default loading screens for the default routes!

* EDIT * I dont think its possible to change the RW2 initial loading screen (with the First HST), the image files you download are intended for changing the loading pictures for routes ( I believe)

Martin, make your own and do it using the instructions I gave in the thread that Igtenhill linked to above. It will be much easier.

Hi, that is for a route not the game itself. Darren, will have another look at the thread and see if I can do it using Scotlandroo's screen especially the "rusty" one which is cool. :) cheers.

Right, rename whatever picture you wish to use using Irfanview to .tga format or whatever program you have, rename it to ui_splash-railsim, go into the railworks/data folder textures frontend, rename the ui_splash_railsim.tga to ui_splash_railsim.tga.ORIGINAL and drop the new file in and you are done.

Hi guys,

I know you'll probably of guessed by now but the screens supplied in my pack are designed as route loading screens. To add them to a route use either the RWTools way above or look at the comments on the download for a link for the way to do it through the blueprint editor (with .ace). In V3 I will include a full tutorial.

Thanks for the feedback,
