Hi, it looks like to me the links are not set up correctly. (if the gate xmls are all set up correctly)

The the gates should act the same way for AI as they do for the player.

If you have any questions, then by all means email support and I will get someone to help.

regards

Derek

The links are set up correctly, the level crossings in RailWorks 2 have a bug which do not detect AI correctly in one direction, it can be seen on the default crossings on default routes. (This has previously been reported to RailSimulator.com as was to be investigated further)

Your fun could have become very costly if Network Rail had decided to take you to court - perhaps it is you that needs to chill out, and think before you act.

Yeah because Network rail are going to sue a student.... and because of a video that is from a simulation, not real life... nice one

Don't underestimate the legal culture today, it seems you can literally sue anyone for anything, nobody is safe, not even a video which you deem harmless. You should be safe though, NR made a profit didn't they?

Although it's possible you could have ended up up-against NR, I think it's more likely you would have found a few dozen comments on YouTube having a go at you for wasting their time with some sim video when they wanted to see a train smack into a truck

It's defamation!
Defamation
Libel: To falsely attack the reputation of a person or body in a permanent form (i.e. in writing or in a drawing).
Slander:To make spoken defamatory statement.
Speech during stage plays, or radio and TV broadcasts is considered libel, rather than slander.
Is it worth the risk?

As Darren said, be very careful of what you post. As a European Law student, I can tell you that I have seen a fair share of extremely ridiculous cases, even more harmless than yours :). Just a bit of advice, no reason to take it in the wrong context ;)

It makes no odds what you have and don't have, monies can be obtained from future earnings.

Northern Rail even tried (and failed miserably) to prosecute for an unpaid 10p ticket excess so don't expect larger operations not to try. :D

And the morale of the story is
'think of the wider picture first, even if its only going to be said in jest'
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it ;-)

Hopefully Network Rail are too busy shovelling snow to be worrying about level crossings in video games!

I gather that now from reading the other thread.

However it again goes to show how easily the context of a statement can be altered by not including all the information!
