Already locked over there. Any decent forum would take serious action. There is controversial discussion. There is controversial discussion of a controversial discussion. And there is picking 10% of something and adding the 90% off your imagination, and posting the new thing as a fact, quoting those who did not even claim half of anything of what the new thing makes of it.

Darpor wrote:Just to prove how much this can get out of hand and misconstrued, someone posted over on the Steam forums, starting a thread with the header "Railworks Bankrupt", quoting that they would be bankrupt by next month and stating sources as both Otto and Vern. I didn't read anything about next month, did you?
Oh, for the love of biscuits...

Pathetic, really.

Unfortunately, from my experience, the denizens of the Steam forums are predominantly ill-informed but vocal, the hard-of-thinking, or simply trolls. As such, it won't take long for such BS to propagate, even after the topic's been locked.

The irony is that the berk who started the thread is "imnotthick"...

He also has a thread about getting banned from here and is wondering whether to go to the media about it.

Oh... my... word...

I was just reading it and can't stop laughing!

Maybe he's had his account/PC compromised and doesn't realise that "he" is posting this garbage?

Or, of course, it's just that he's a card-carrying, Olympic-standard div.

Judge for yourselves, here.

I just twigged who this is, too -- it's the guy who was "giving up smoking", right? Of course, it never occurred to me that it wasn't tobacco he was giving up ...

After a pretty miserable last week due to the snow and travel difficulties, I have to say that this thread is giving me no end of amusement and is a great start to this week.

I wonder what comes next :-?

He has another thread, constantly answering himself and threatening users with a gun! :o

For that reason, I won't link the thread but it isnt too hard to find.

Crazy.

Well, he mentions having done a tour in Afghanistan - looks like he saw a little _too_ much action over there.... I have (well, had) older relatives who saw some pretty heavy fighting and a lot of bad things happen in WW2, and they were, well, let's say a bit "out of it" too...

Actually it underscores my point - some child suffering from prepubescent angst claims to be a Veteran of Afghanistan and people take that for gospel? Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Jim, I see that lonewolfdon has offered the forum URL for RailworksAmerica to this "individual", do you go on that forum at all, if so, then you might want to advise Hawk of this person's reputation, before he says something regretful over there.
I had to laugh at his posts on Steam though, he keeps calling that poster "old and baldy" yet his nick is Toldrabald.....This chap's certainly gone off the rails in more ways than one......
