Hahahaha, I hope Mrs.Jimmy's hairdo will now keep her quiet for a few weeks, well, until Christmas anyway....
Being a cynic, of course, the other reason for the delay in releasing the Class 31 is so that it won't get put into the Christmas sale, as I doubt that RS.com would consider a brand new offering to the community being knocked down price wise, so quickly after it's release.

Hi.
With the above post, am i correct in assuming that the '31' was originally due on the 10th and then got pushed back to the 13th? I cant't remember the dates in the RSC christmas showcase e-mail (D'oh!).I have just been on RSC's website, and it has been pushed back again to the 15th! Ahh well , its going to have to be a 2011 purchase for me now, i was all geared up for the 6th! never mind.
Hi folks, I apologise to anybody who feels let down by the delays which have affected some of our recent releases. This is certainly something we would have preferred to avoid, and there have been a number of factors involved - including Steam's seasonal promotions, which we need to work around, and the Thanksgiving holiday which meant new DLC could not be uploaded for testing until later, and therefore had to be released later.
I understand that it is aggravating to have to wait longer and longer for something you have been looking forward to getting - in an ideal world, we would put everything out on time every time! Unfortunately, we sometimes find ourselves having to move a release back by a matter of several days, and we are never keen to release a product until it has been well-tested.
The Class 31 has been particularly delayed by the issues noted above, and I am sorry to keep you all waiting for it. However, having taken some video footage of the different versions this morning, I'm sure you will enjoy it when it comes out next week on 15th! The Falmouth Branch is also still on track for next Friday 17th, just in time for Christmas.

Thanks for the update Simon, it's good of you to take the time to let us know. Once again though, no serious complaint intended about the delays, just take it as a good thing that people are itching to buy the products as soon as they can!!
quite a shame, seeing as he has been told about this before. Awesome model otherwise, but it's the little things that separate a model from being awesome to outstanding.
Regarding the cabside ridge, it looks about right to me; it seems less noticeable on the prototype in some photographs, but I think that is probably down to lighting
These photos from http://www.class31.co.uk show it more clearly (all credit to the original photographers):
nice driving position (at last - it does seem that RSC have been obsessed recently with having my nose stuck to the windscreen) but this looks bob on.. Can't wait
