Just a quick question for those in the know.
My pc will run all the default routes virtually without stutter apart from the approaches to Paddington with detail up at 10 and shading and texture knocked down a notch or two so I'm not losing much to get pretty decent gameplay. The WCML is a none starter unless I want Glasgow Central to disappear.
Can someone tell me if the CPU usage and frame rates are better for the Exeter - Bristol route than the WCML north?

CPU usage on routes
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it

For me the frame rates in Exeter to Bristol are more than double what I get in WCML. I too have massive issues running WCML but I can run everything on max with Bristol no problems. I get pretty much the same level of performance as I get on default Oxford to Padd.

Re: CPU usage on routes
Thanks for that lads, just installed Exeter to Bristol on your recommendation and I'm loving it.
I don't think the WCML North's problem is traffic as I've created a simple one train scenario just to check it and it was just a bad.
One thing I did try last night was cloning the WCML with Railworks 2 and not RWTools. It seems when you clone with RW2 the mixmap doesn't clone. I found that without the mixmap I could run it reasonably with detail at 8 and the others at medium. Before I had to run it at 5 or 6 with everything on lowest details. It seems without mixmap frees up quite a bit of resources.
Plus I copied the scenarios straight over from the original one to the clone and they seemed to work ok.
It's not ideal but atleast when I get to Glasgow, Central Station is waiting for me in all it's glory
