Can't think where to put this - please forgive if not the right place
I have modified the excellent kngtrains Jinty to take the Karma Prarie Cab and Ivatt _41312 to take the 4MT cab
Also modified the cab out view so it fits the door better.
Firstly is this something that would be useful to others ? And secondly is it permitted to upload ?
would be be useful if ....

Thanks for these.
Got the Jinty to work okay but not the Ivatt. I seem to remember that the DT Ivatt went into different folders depending on whether you purchased it direct from DT or from Steam. What folder is the mod expecting the cab to be in?

Can anyone answer this?
Re: would be be useful if ....
One would assume the DT 4MT would look for the cab in the DT 4MT folder, thus requiring you to have it before actually installing the "Patch". I don't think being hosted on Steam or Digital Traction will affect where it's looking for the cab, as essentially, DT's jst selling thier product on steam. Doesnt mean it will install into the RSC folder in your install, it will still have the same install directory as the DT hosted version on thier site, "...Assets\DT\DT_4MT_loco.....etc...etc".

Thanks for the reply Will, but I don't think it's safe to assume anything.
My DT 4MT cabview is in:
.....Assets/DT_4MT_loco/default/Cabview
but when I try to alias the Ivatt using the mod, I don't get a cabview in the Ivatt at all.
The only explanation that I can think of is that the mod is looking for the 4MT cabview in a different folder.
I'm sure I remember something about the DT stuff using different folders depending on whether it was purchased directly from DT or from Steam. I think that was to do with an activity looking in the wrong place for the DT 4MT.
Bob.

It would seem to me that the Ivatt's Bin file isn't lined correctly then, as your 4MT cabview is installed to the same place mine is Bob.
There will be several lines referencing cabview stuff. Alot of it will be for the animation and which folder it's looking for to see the anim files. There will be some lines (Just underneath the two lines referencing the GEOPCDX's location) which has a line showing where it's looking for the cabview.
I would suggest taking a look over the file's download page and seeing what the author has written. I expect you have, but PM'ing him would be a port of call. If that fails to no avail, and your still stuck, you can always PM me the Bin file and I can take a look for you, I have no problems doing that. Always happy to help. Not questioning your ability to do it yourself, or the original "Patch" creators either, but I suspect there's some lines referencing the 4MT and some that should be, but aren't. Thats the only reason I can think of as to why the cabview won't show.

Re: would be be useful if ....
Well, it looks like the problem was "pilot trouble" (aka "operator error").
I don't mind my ability being questioned at all in respect of RW2. I know my way around MSTS pretty well but haven't delved much into the inner workings of RW2 yet.
I had PMed the author but hadn't received a reply.
I managed to have a good look in the .bin file and all the references I could find were to DT/DT_4MT_loco/default/Cabview.
So I thought I'd better try it one more time and this time it worked.
I think it's likely I neglected to tick the DT box the first time around.
Sorry to take up your time Will and thanks for the offer of help.
Regards,
Bob.

Ahh well done Bob for sorting it yourself, I'm glad it's working for you now anyway, thats the main thing.
Don't be sorry to take up my time, honestly, as I said above, always happy to help.
