I could never find the pause button before
I am sure you have checked this but have you set the correct resolution for your monitor in the Settings Tab AND clicked on the Test Button and then saved the configuration if it is OK.ladyoflynn wrote:yes GEOFF me,still no Railworks 2,all loades files verified ect ,have picture on screen, click on start and get error send or don^t send,![]()

Me too mate, I'm thinking of defecting over to the happy crew. Last night I did some messing around with the various settings and graphics options and somehow as if by a kind of dark magic, I've stumbled upon a miracle setting and transformed the sim!! The graphics have suddenly gone ultra-sharp, the track detail has morphed into something that looks nothing short of real life. I can't get over the track, it's truly incredible. Couple with that I've managed to increase my frame rates and can now run nearly all WCML scenarios without SBHH, even around Glasgow. There is now only one scenario that won't load without lowering the settings and that's the 'round in circles' 101 DMU job.philspace wrote:If you can remember how this thread started, it's good news at last - I've verified my cache (twice - if only life was a little longer!) and can now switch the Fisher-Price HUD off with F4.
Everything is now so wonderful, that I am thinking of moving over to the "Happy" thread
Best wishes
Phil

Gobsmacked I am, I just wish I could put my finger on what I did that made such a sudden difference.
Settings are as follows:black8 wrote:What ARE your settings and graphics option now Jimmy?jimmyshand wrote:Me too mate, I'm thinking of defecting over to the happy crew. Just fix the new HUD so its not on as default ,remove the playskool giant cursors (though I think I have done that myself almost) remove the pause box and remove the god awful new splash screens (though again I think I have sorted that out as well) and i'll be happierAcorncomputer wrote:Is anybody still unhappy
Cheers mate, I think the secret must have been in the Anti-aliasing or the scenery detail slider perhaps? I've played with the other settings loads of times but never had an impact this good. I am guessing that the anti-aliasing change must have been what brought the track to life??? Scenery detail slider set to 7 seems to make no noticeable difference to the amount of detail seen and is a great compromise for those with less powerful rigs. Any lower than this and things start to get odd, like station buildings disappearing etc.Oldpufferspotter wrote:Hi Jimmyshand,
The very next thing to do now is to make a note of all your settings, and do a full backup of the Steam/Railworks files onto your own media, so that should any update in the future 'jigger up' your RW setup, you can always return back to this satisfactory state of affairs. Full backups really are essential for your own sake.
Glad you have it all sorted now,
regards Ted.
How did you do that, it is a bit of pain looking at those each time and the previous settings in the Steam launcher to by-pass these screens does not now work.remove the god awful new splash screens (though again I think I have sorted that out as well)
