Class 03 is being made by RSC
Hi, just found this via there facebook page: http://railsimulator.blogspot.com/2010/10/class-03.html
Re: Class 03 Is been Made by RSC
Glad to see the project is up and running again -- it's only been in the offing for what seems like three years
-- but Derek did say it wasn't dead some time back.
Maybe the title needs to change to "Class 03 has not stopped being made by RSC"?
Rik.

"The Industrial North" where would the North start then? Watford?

Dunno Brian, as far as I'm concerned 'the south' starts at Macclesfield...

Nice to see it back on the boil again. Hopefully it will include the dual braked version so that we can have 03 112 on station pilot duties at Newcastle as it often was. Have some external pics somewhere if it's any help. A lot of these ran with a match truck attached semi permanently to help activate track circuits, I wonder if a generic one will be included?

It certainly does.briyeo1950 wrote:"The Industrial North" where would the North start then? Watford?

Re: Class 03 Is been Made by RSC
Excellent news, I've been looking forward to this Class of shunter for ages. A diverse allocation saw them operating from the Isle of Wight to Newcastle and Somerset across to Norwich and down to Londinium, such variety will be extremely useful for most of the routes we have within Railworks.

I don't know. Down here we find everything a bit urban and industrial from Guildford northwards.briyeo1950 wrote:"The Industrial North" where would the North start then? Watford?
Looking forward to the 03 though. I'm hoping it comes out as well as the 02 did.

Re: Class 03 Is been Made by RSC
Whilst I'm pleased that the '03 is still being made, I'm sure Derek isn't, because as far as I'm aware (or may have read somewhere) it's his last shunter for a while - so the poor "Grumpy Northerner" will want to keep on to this for as long as possible!
Anyhow.. as a "Southern Softie" I proclaim that the 'North' is just above the 'Midlands'

As a midlander of eastern variety I can confirm the North starts at the southern outskits of Sheffield following a line on the southern border of Yorkshire and Lancashire. There is a slight blurring of this due to the fact people keep moving about.
So it seems the 03 shunter will eventualy be released in a route addon, thats the way i read it at least.

Luvverly, just what N-Y needs, a real "proper" station pilot!
Hopefully (pleeeeez...) they'll include the match truck (with shunter's pole on the top) as they mostly ran like this.

No - this is a real 'proper' station pilot http://alan-lewis-chambers.fotopic.net/p11036714.html - although not for Newcastle - York.rabid wrote:Luvverly, just what N-Y needs, a real "proper" station pilot!

My railway photos are now on Google + - links to the albums are in this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 9&t=149558
Lots of steam and early diesels from 1959 to 1963.
