Hi
If you go on the Railsim website blog page you will be able to see progree on 4472 it is looking good apart from those awful smoke deflectors
and even the double chimney,it is good that there will be a single chimney version as should the real one should be when it returns whenever.
Having went to York at the beggining of October the Tender wasn't even completed yet.

Wow 4472 with the two Tenders over Beattock and the S and D.i will certainly be buying this one,How much will it be.Can't wait for november the 5th
Bonfire night what a cracker.

Bye for now

Hmm I though 4472 was coming back as double chimney / Kylchap but without smoke deflectors? She will be coming back dual breaked so expect to see her on a preserved line near you in the future!

Tom's done at least two versions so far, one in LNER apple green and the other in BR Brunswick green.

The deflectors are, I'd guess, child objects as there's a newer shot showing her in preserved form with the deflectors.

Personally, I prefer the BR era, "deflectored" version and appreciate the ability to choose between it and the "famous" version.

Rik.

Slight tangent - when were the smoke deflectors fitted and for what purpose?

Edit; nevermind, seems they were a BR "improvement" :-?

I personally think the german smoke deflectors match the A3s alot better than the conventional types (check out Thompson's rebuild of Great Northern if you're still not sure  ). I probably prefer 4472 with them on than when they're not to be honest, they give it a more powerful, awe-inspiring appearance, but that's just me. I'm glad that the pack will feature so many different varieties to suit everyone's personal tastes, but I know what it'll be like on my PC.

Regards
Chris

Indeed, shaping up to be a cracking package. I guess for me it's just that the only incarnation of 4472 I've known has been LNER green with no smoke deflectors, so that's my personal favourite :)

Hi
Will the Sounds be accurate for 4472 as i well remember that distinctive A3 Beat.Considering it hasn't run for some time how will they get them.
will Oovee be doing them or RSC we could use them then on Green Arrow. That is the key Ingredient then the model will be Perfect.
