Another fine piece of work by Mr. Consistency himself. And the textures at first glance appear to be an absolute dream to work with. Woohoo. Now if I could only find a way to smuggle my desktop to work so I can get painting now.

Very nice cab as well :).

Have the Meshtools 50's but this looks like a must have to me.

Just bought and had first test run. First up I have always been a massive fan of the meshtools 50 so I won't compare the two. Sly's 50 was a total surprise and was a much appreciated sudden little bonus! The exterior model is superb especially the front end, high detail and very nice to look at. The cab is very nice too and includes nice details such as panel doors under the drivers console, sliding window and a technical plaque on the secondmans side. Only let down with cab is very small gauges, all but impossible to read speed with my screen resolution. Sounds are a very pleasant surprise, not far off mr. Armstrong quality and includes start up and shutdown effects. Only let down with sounds is the now all too familiar IHH standard horn. Finally the included scenarios look great with one featuring a long wait on the end of Paddington watching AI trains come and go before your 50 arrives from the depot! In summary well worth it and a must if you're a diesel man like me

I'm kind of surprised before even owning it and hearing the IHH Class 50 I see people wanting Richards sound pack patched and applied to use on this. As the previous poster has stated, the sounds are very good as they are out of the box.

Can I ask, what do you find wrong with the sounds When compared with AP's?

As an owner and fan of the AP sounds it would be great to have the possibility of using them when I buy Sly's new 50. I don't recall any statement saying that the original sounds were or would be anything less than acceptable. :)

I've got a sneaky feeling the sounds might be AP anyway, barring the horn. I've got the AP sounds and the new 50 is very similar if not the same

Finally got this, and what a thrashmeister. Fantastic work, mille mercis Sly! Brings back fond memories of bashing them on GWML in the early 80s. Look forward to other livery variants, and have to say is now my fave IHH loco with the equally brill Crewe 56 in close second. :)

Now that I'm home on my main gaming PC to see this thing in full high resolution, AF and AA goodness. I'm stunned. Folks, that pic isn't shopped, it really does just look that darn good.

Looks like this is an essential purchase then. (Though may wait and see if a Steam version materialises).

However never mind Paddington... double headed on 14 coaches over Beattock will be the real 50 experience!
