I love the route editor and how I've managed to bring a chunk of railway in essex to life.

It's far more then I could achieve in msts .

Also the continual support from rs and all the people of here who create routes, trains and scenery.

Once I remember a train aim being blocks on a screen. Now it's this fully immersive 3d driving experience.

I think like a relationship rw is not perfect but I still love it

Hi
Yes, key 8 gets my vote!with the smoothing tool a close second! but, thats just one of a hundred great things about RW, the amazing Graphics, the Route editor.
But above all else, the sound i get when i open up the IHH Western,or the Oovee class 57!turn up the volume till the house shakes, and my wife threatens to cut the plug of my PC, because she cant hear Strictly on the telly! :D
Keep it up RS.COM.
Regards
Kevin.

Further to what I Posted above, another of my favourite features is not having to designate a "Player" consist, so when writing a Scenario you can place the "Scenario Marker" on a Station platform (or in the Yard), then wait (while watching what is going off around you) for the train you want to arrive at the Station (Yard) and click on the "arriving" Locomotive and take over control from the 'AI' Driver. Follow the "F1" directions to another part of the Route, then get off that Loco and get into another Loco that arrives at another Platform (Yard) and then take over the controls of this new one (and watch the other Consist disappear under 'AI' control) and then complete the new Consists instructions to a different part of the Route. That always seems to be more realistic to me, than starting in the Cab and driving to the end as you usually do.

I love the fact that I can just place a train anywhere I want and go anywhere I want. :D

I love how easy(relatively speaking of course!!! ) route building is! Id never have built a route like the GCR without the tools available! They do need refining a little but they're still brilliant!

...driving, the graphics and all the wonderful routes, rolling stock, assets and scenarios that have been developed and which are in the pipeline (freeware & payware) . Its like having a great big train set that you can keep changing and adding to :D

. . . . the open architecture of Railworks which encourages development and modification by 3rd parties and the excellent selection of both freeware and payware download content that is available for Railworks becuase of it. Variety is the spice of life, or so they say . . .

The thrill of playing a new route. My '8' got some heavy abuse with Keith's WCML North. Just flying around was amazing. Every time something new to see.

I love the fact that I can slide from drivers seat to secondmans seat, then stick my head out the window! Why? Just because I can!! I also love that in some locos I can flick switches to turn on lights etc. I love the fact that you can start and shutdown the engine, purely just for fun, sound effects and immersion.

I love that wow feeling you sometimes get after completing certain scenarios, the ones that make you sit back and catch your breath at how realistic and visually superb this sim can be. Even Mrs Jimmy remarked once as she was passing, how realistic Glasgow Central station was and said "there's the hotel we stayed in", the one that overlooks the end of the platforms!!

The bits I love most are, the graphics and the route editor! Graphics look amazing on full (which unfortunately I can't use all of the time :( Just for screenshots) but either way They're amazing, and the route editor there are endless possiblities as to what can be created and lots of great route have and still are being created for RW, including those in the route building challenge :)
Thanks RSC for a great sim :P

I love making scenarios probably more than actually driving it! I see Rw's as a trusty old dog who is a bit blind in one eye, and bumps into things occasionally, daft mutt you think but ya still love it to bits!

...basically the fact that IMO it is/will be the number one train simulation due to the amazing visual effect/graphics, and the route editor couldn't be simpler, and neither could the installation of new assets.

In other words everything RW can do, it does far better than any other sim. And it gets better still through the automatic updates.
