Railworks 2 implies that the upgrade is significant, enough to increase the version number to "2", hopefully some of these major improvements include a rework of the game engine to improve Physics performance, ie offloading the PhysX calculations onto a GPU, so that the the main CPU has more spare processing power available for all these other improvements they have mentioned. Sounds promising though fingers crossed, but if not, something for nothing cant be grumbled about.

I sincerely hope this change to Railworks 2 on the 18th doesn't affect all our friends who are busy burning the midnight oil with the [RW] Route Building Challenge 2. :-?

The panic is hysterical.
It's a big patch with a funky name. The fact some people think it's going to render all their previous content void and break everything is... frankly stupid!

Do you think Derek spent a month of his free time, putting all that personal effort for the benefit of others into the route competition, for it all to be worthless 3 weeks later?! Use your noggins people
Not to mention the commercial suicide of rendering all the previous addons worthless

For a company who we see expanding their payroll and have survived 3 years in a tough financial climate, you think they'd get some credit for having a clue.. but not on here UKTS... Home of the Over Reaction (tm)

I think you'll be right.

All speculation, of course, but I highly doubt the game engine will perform any differently although I would love - LOVE - to be proven wrong.
