Thanks for the tip but I think Adam has oversimplified it. I just opened one of the Hall scenarios in the editor and tried to save it but got the message that there were no changes to save.

Just spotted a point well made on TS.com. What if you have a couple of hundred scenarios that require saving? It's not a quick process and as noted above you have to move something to trigger the save call. (Which in itself could banjax the thread by which the particular scenario holds together).

Easiest way I can think of is to add and then delete any item of rolling stock. Even so that's a laborious business

Just tried again and got it to save just by changing the weather from what it was originally to something else and then back again, I didn't need to save the first weather change either. That's probably easier and safer than playing around with the stock.

That is why it is optional and only for those who need to see their trains on the list here and now.

For the others, someone is slaving away at RSC towers (or cellars) and when he is done, all of us get the result for free via Steam.

What's interesting is that some scenarios I created before the RW2 update show in the Drive by Train list, but others do not, yet in none of them did I fill in the "extra" fields in the scenario details

probably because filling in "extra" fields is not necessary .

It seems not, but it does not hurt to do so.

They did not speak about filling in the extra details. They talked about loading and saving. Now I have no idea why some would work without that -- maybe you simply saved them by chance. And it is totally irrelevant to find out, because the issue will be a thing of the past in a few days, like the "lost DLC enforcing repurchase" already is -- except for the one case where the dispute with Valve about the old account is not settled.

Normally, I am all for exploration and finding your own way, and it was sure worth having animated crossings for nearly a year before they finally got fixed (about on 3th anniversary of KRS release). But if the provided a fix for the one thing on Wednesday, I would not get hyperactive for the other issue before, say, next Monday. Just my two pence.

What happens when you try to load a scenario and get a 'Something badd...' message? Will using RW_Tools to re-save that scenario have the same effect and correct the situation?
