WCML Points Problems

Hi, I have a problem with some of the points on the WCML north route. (Copied from support email to RSC)

I drove on a free roam scenario yesterday, (using a class 390) from Carlisle to Glasgow. The loops just south of Carstairs and Lockerbie keep changing at the last minute, forcing me into the 40/30mph loops, and I am driving at 125mph. I check the junctions before, and it is putting me onto the fast lines at first, but as soon as I am very close to the junction, it changes into the loop and I keep changing it by using Shift + Left Mouse Button. It still doesn't want to change and it sticks to the loop. After frantically doing this, it works, but I can't keep doing this. If I don't do this, it consequently derails and this is quite annoying. Please can you sort this out ASAP, I really love this route.

Cheers, Sean :)

I have exerepainced the same problem south or Carlisle about 25 miles outside Carlisle the signal told me I was routed ahead and not into the loop so didn't break (no need to) then once passed the signal (where there is no time to break). then next thin i know i'm flung into the sidings and well, i head for the pealry gates! I don't think its the points Sean more of the dispatcher last minute path change as Keith has said he made all the loops main line properties to make sure they are useable for scenarios for both frieght and passengers.

I would add a few instructions to your pendolino freeroam consist to use the "stop at" but changing it from 0 MPH to the line speed and it *should* (no garuntee) stop the dispatcher deciding to play Chicken with you.

If you're driving in free roam this isn't an issue with the route but a problem which has plagued the sim since the Railsimulator days. When freeroaming and approaching a track loop the sim "might" change the points at the last moment to go the long way round the loop. Of course, in free roam the points should not be dynamically changing anyway. You can work arround it be placing markers in the loop and mainline stretches to path the train the correct way.

But how do I do that, ie place markers and mainline stretches??

Sorry for being so dim.

In the Free Roam at Carlisle I've had to set it up like a proper scenario, i.e. giving the trains destinations and placing waypoints so that I'm not routed into any of the loops or sidings.

Hi, in scenario editor just open the middle-left hand toolbar, click on the Signals tab and find "Marker - Destination".

Hi, this has worked - apart from one thing, as soon as the scenario loads the Pendolino sets off as AI as I haven't set it to stop at Carlisle, so I have to wait for the lag to go (I have a lot of it!) then click and apply Backspace, but thats better than derailing!
