I think my long-departed grand-mother had the answer to this problem.

To paraphrase her... "if you can't say something good about (somebody/something), then don't say anything at all".

Wouldn't it be a wonderful world if everyone either agreed or said nothing.

Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, Saddam Hussein, Kim Jong-Il, Josef Stalin and a bunch of other dictators would most certainly agree on that one.

Oh stop adding high octane petroleum you naughty boy.
Haven't the office strung you up for revealing secret screenshots yet?
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it ;-)

Hi
Just been reading this thread, and i must say i agree with Verns original post, surely for a thread to be locked there needs to be an obvious breach of the COC,i did not see any such breach in the thread concerned,in fact i thought it was a very intresting disscusion, with everyone behaving themselves, there is IMHO some slight overmoderating when the subject of core errors,Payware, Etc, get posted here, wereas some pointless threads seem to ramble on,if one is only allowed to post fanmail ,then the reason for the forum is totaly pointless.
On the whole the mods do a great job here, and the general conduct on the forum compared to some on the net is first class,i would just ask for subjects positive and negative be given the chance to run there course as long as it stays within the COC.
Over the past few months, and yet to come, there has been some fantastic content for RW a big positive, but lets not forget there are issues that users would like to see resolved aswell.

"if you can't say something good about (somebody/something), then don't say anything at all"

Beautiful sentiment, but like "violence never settles anything" it's a Pollyanna philosophy that doesn't take the real world into account. Buy a new car, the engine sputters and dies when you try to go uphill, then when you go to park it you discover it doesn't have a reverse gear. Take it back to the dealer and tell him how much you admire the styling because complaining about the problems isn't "nice"? Of course in this case complaining is useless, he'll just say it wasn't designed to go uphill, drive it on flat roads. And why do you want to back up anyway, instead of parking it just leave it in the middle of the street. So you either learn to live with it or send it to the junkyard and buy a different car from someone else.

I'm sorry my irony was misunderstood - I was trying express my support of the Original Poster in his assessment of the way the Forums are heading.

Still, it's good to know that a representative of RS.Com regards it as mountain made out a molehill.

Best wishes

Yes I do.

How this thread has lingered on so long is a mystery too.
